Short, but very fun! I especially liked having 2 bosses onscreen at once for maximum mayhem, but man I hate those double-parabola-ish attacks. :) Also, imo a very nice additon that the basic creeps show you where they are coming from. Would have liked to see hp bars for the bosses, but it's not a feature that I missed a great deal.

i can literally survive the last stage IDLEing with this setup shield up down down choices for the three choices my perks are double graze, missile and double shield

I realize why I had never played this one. There are far more bullets to avoid, patterns that can be impossible to survive, and the music is just nauseating. As with the last one, the defensive path is far more powerful than the offensive one. I mean really, more bullets+more drones+a shield? Could've at least made ship speeds to compensate.

It's fun! However, I wish there was a good indication of grazing so I know I'm doing it without looking at the bar... but even that isn't much of an issue because grazing only allows me to gain lives which I have to risk by getting close to death. I'll just avoid bullets altogether and keep all my lives. Also, there needs to be a mute music option, not just muting all sound.

This game is a very excellent sequel from DN8. Firstly, I have to say, the graphics increased VASTLY. The 3D Graphics makes it feel so real and elegant while you destroy enemies. Secondly, I feel proud as you had returned the "Choose your own upgrade", which helps people still choose their own upgrades of their choices. The perks were really nice and great, as it helps. The only thing that wasn't really good was the drones, which made grazing hard(I agree to sinjin25). I liked the colorful paths that show how the enemy will move, making it easy to find a strategy for the enemies path. The music is catchy, the drumming and all those. Some may not agree, but all I think it's that. Well, overall I give this a 5/5 either way, since I don't care about the grazing problem much. Good job, hope you improve better!

The drone upgrades are a little over-powered. For most boss fights, you can just stick a drone on it's side and all bullets are deflected + your shooting at him.

Just to follow up my last comment, with 2x Graze and 2x Shield on, beginning with 3 lives, I beat the second to last level with 6 lives, without moving at all.

I've decided that the energy shields are pretty much the most OP thing in the game. They allow you to absorb multiple hits per life, which makes it a lot easier to graze with 2x Graze and 2x Shield activated. By the time you do lose a life (by taking unnecessary risks, the rest of the challenge is pretty much gone), you've already gained two more. I would recommend resetting, or even applying a penalty, to the graze bar upon losing a life. In this way it wouldn't be so easy to farm lives with such little care for whether or not you take a hit.

could you perhaps add more powerups/upgrades on the right? THey're empty which seems dissappointing (i picked the top stuff). Overall a nice game, although my game's laggy from no 3D acceleration :S 4/5

If you make a 3rd one I think it would be cool to have it branch off into more then just 2 sides...but the graphics and everything look really nice on this one. Still seems like playing the first one and nothing really different though :P

The game needs the feature of the mouse not being able to leave screen.I've died so many times when i'm at the edge of screen and my mouse goes out...

Great game. Has all the requisite features, but refined and slick. Music is a bit redundant, and I'd love a full screen option. Well done.
Thanks mate. I've actually got a build on my HD with fullscreen, but it throws up a load of other problems ( Limited keyboard support in fullscreen for example ) so I'm still in two minds about adding it.

because i agree with the reviews you've gotten, there is a blaring issue for me at least, the music is so damn repetitive, the tracks can be as small as 7 seconds long, and this makes a big issue, i shouldnt want to mute your game just to keep playing.

The game is pretty good, but a lot is simply a repeat from previous versions. I've also yet to encounter a game with bullet grazing that pulls it off in a way that is fun and intuitive; bullet grazing is just a crappy way to increase difficulty without adding much of any depth.

I must say, a lot of these bosses feel like they were at the very least inspired by Touhou. Specifically, Imperishable Night.

WSAD Handling is not that good. It stucks very often in one direction!!! At the Techtree i only can choose if i want weapons or defense!?!?!? :(

as a big fan of dn8, this just makes me cring to be honest.power-ups are basically the same, the music is repetitive, boring, trying. no amount of remixing the beat fixes that, honestly i had to mute it halfway in game simply for it being so annoying. i like that for playing the first game you have perks. someone made a mention of the defense drones and it does maker it harder, but thats part of the game dealing with the upgrades, but making the graze zone smaller.just no, your a pixel away from death and this game even on lowest graphics lags a little.background on dn8 was fun and added difficulty for the "wtf"factor this one is just.....lazy,boring and obvious. the enemies as well are just sad. no laser bosses"at least from what i saw i stopped playing when the upgrades were done"no interesting combinations of incoming enemys and they looked horrible! the bosses looked like 16bit blown up jpg. 1/10 ive seen your work, i know you can do better. i eagerly await another installment.
Sorry you didn't like this one mate. I personally think it plays better than the first, but that's quite possibly due to it being my new baby, I really need to give it a couple of months before I can compare them subjectively. Thanks for taking the time to review it ( As to a 3rd one, I can't see that happening. I'm not a fan of doing sequels unless the games got something new to give, for this one its mainly the visuals ( The glows, the 60fps movement ), I don't know where we can take this next, short of making it true 3D and using the camera view to mix things up. Never say never, but I think this is the end of the DN8 universe ).

have to agree that dn8 was better. that said there really isnt much of a difference at all, even the tech trees are pretty much the same as before. Just a massive and distracting graphics upgrade (asteroids flying at you in the background = wtf!)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Since upgrades are level based you have no motive to kill the enemy. This give the easy out of all defensive upgrades and hiding.

The defense drones make grazing needlessly difficult; there's nothing more frustrating than rushing towards an easy bullet just to have it deflected. Especially on those rapid fire patterns. I could've gotten so many lives D':
5/5 regardless
Swings and roundabouts mate :) The defensive orbs are slightly over powered, they do too good a job, so making grazing harder is the way to balance that. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, thanks for the comment and for playing the game.
