I'm determined to figure out this game. The first group through I can do fairly well. After that, I basically get my butt handed to me. there never seems to be any upgrade to equipment, despite my attempts to upgrade the emporium.
Seems damage scales very quickly and I usually have 2 deaths by the end of the second round of play (and this is with using some assignments to endurance).
But, who wants a game that you can roll over, so I accept the challenge.

I really REALLY loved the original games to death, cant stand this remake sorry. Need female character sprites to be happy, just feels cheap without them :( im going to play the most recent 2D one thanks

I posted a team in an earlier comment, but after setting the difficulty to the max, I came to realize that team doesn't work as well as I thought. Enemies do so much damage that you need more than one person in front, otherwise, they will kill him before you can heal. The enemies also have way more health, and the earlier team doesn't get the job done. Also, you need to be healing people constantly. So here is my team that seems to be working so far. Both clerics in front, both rogues in back. The clerics should not be doing any damaging at all. They should just heal and buff 24/7, and rest if they run out of power. The rogues should be doing one thing... damage. they should use Elusive stance and sneak attack all the time. Sneak attack is one of the most damaging powers for a low cost of 15, so have them concentrate on the most dangerous enemies on the field. Give them swords for more damage. The front row should be wearing platemail, because they need to absorb blows.

Am I missing something, or does this game not have a final ending? o.o
I played the last act..the endless dungeon, for I don't know how many floors until I got bored, but there's nothing after that?
Kind of disappointing and anti-climatic >.>

Awesome as always!
Would like to have selectable exploration music, including that of the first part of Book of Dread, though.

oh and have the back cleric choose radiance so he can regenerate everybody's health without actually having to do anything.

Here's my team. Back Row: second ranger, second cleric, second mage in that order. Front Row: Put the first cleric in the middle. Ranger should go dexterity and intellect, and he should be set up as a damage dealer who can heal if necessary. The back row cleric should be your main healer. Full intellect, and try to get him items that give power regen. Mage should go full intellect obviously, and he should be a damage dealer and also should be there to summon war golems during long fights. at first it may seem bizzare to not have a warrior in front, but you will soon discover that the cleric does just fine with tanking, and fervor makes him a damage beast as well. go strength and endurance with him so he can be a powerful damage dealer, tank, and even emergency healer because he's a cleric. With this team, you get very respectable damage, more healers and semi-healers than you could ever want, and lots of interesting buffs and skills that can help you beat any opponent. Enjoy!

@88007287 wide slash cannot be evaded, but it can miss. if your character happens to be blinded it is very possible to miss 3 times

idle version of the game would be perfect. Battles take to long and my active flash love has lowered over the decade.

Had it @ 5/5, changed to 4/5 (After buying "premium content"). First of all, pretty disappointed with the fact the only thing I got for $5 really was a few nice enhancements. Maybe I'm not far along enough to appreciate them yet, but I was expecting extra classes. Second off, to give the premium status more reason & to improve overall in the game, make a few save files for campaign progress. Make it so each campaign save locks that character for other files so you can keep most of the code the same. More enemy selection would be nice too. Other than that, would be 5/5.

ranger 'pinpoint' skill and theif 'coup de grace' skill combinaton is the best strategy. all you need is just adjusting some quickness of ranger and theif.

I don't know wtf happened. I was on the third level and suddenly it cuts back to the start screen asking if I want to start a new game??? :(

It has been my favorite game for years... Now I want to play it again, but it takes forever to load now... Something wrong?

I wish there were a way, using bag loot rules, to separate "restoration" consumables from the scrolls of deception and buff/bonus "next battle" consumables. I don't want them in the same bag. I also wish there were a way to say "and below" instead of "and above" to specify the loot rarity a container is allowed. Lastly, there is clearly some tweaking needed in your "suggestion" engine for equipment upgrades. I've seen worse items proposed as "looks good", and I've seen epic upgrades ignored. If there's an engine driving these suggestions, allow the user to tweak it, perhaps? Good concepts here. They just need fixing.

Wow. I'm losing time to this game. Seriously. Nice job. I just finished a run-through and wondered where the last 3 hours went.

what advantage does having a weapon in your second hand have? I just started and I can't see the disadvantage of giving my assassin a buckler instead of his second dagger

Also, most of these buffs last such a short time, they're hardly worth casting? Do you even get a full turn's worth of quickness out of Swiftness, to make up for the turn you spent casting it on yourself, before it expires? Shield Wall lasts, what, the duration of one enemy attack? For 60 energy? I think some of these durations need to be tweaked in the player's favor, else they're not worth using, and then each hero becomes a one-or-two-button grind. I like the diversity you've built into these classes and their non-direct-damage abilities. I'd just like to feel like they're worth using, over direct damage, without being a waste of energy.

We need better tools to manage and sort inventory, and mass-sell, and auto-sell, and sell from the loot screen (there's a discard button, but not a sell button, when you loot? Really?) I can see some thought was put into this, in the sorting category at least, but not enough. The ability to sell multiple items at once without dragging them to the Sell box one by one is crucial. Minus that tedium and headache, this is a great game.
