Game is awesome, 5/5 would bang. However, what really made me sad, then really happy was the icon. It looks all super high def and better than most other icons for games out there. Then the loading screen had that little chibi skeleton, and I thought "oh no, another attack of the good looking icon" and then the game fully loaded and it was totally redeemed with the very detailed gameplay.

All in all well improved - on the other hands major flaws: 1) No stacking pots? 2) No option to change camera in battle 3) Walking all the way in dungeon - without the option to disable 4) No new Equip in shop, at least once per level (in lesser difficulties at least, since Equip is mostly crap) which brings me to point 5) Crapy equip even after spending a lot of money on upgrades... seriously i could go on.. like the old ones more, plus the difficulty is even on standard ridiculously hard if you dont happen to be a lucky bastard to find stuff - which rarely happens 3.5/5 rounded down - because it's hardly enjoyable (got all badges in MD so far, so yea i used to enjoy it, a lot)

Personally, I think the easiest character to one man party with is Faran, the assassin. Being able to use shields*, bows, maces, and blades, the rogue is the most versatile class. I would recommend equipping anything with retaliation damage or health steal/health regeneration because the rogue class has no self heal ability. Hide will be most valuable ability, since you can use it to take no damage while regenerating health, and the damage bonus is good too.
*Or most other offhand equipment.

Today I went back to this game after over a year since last playing it. I still love this game! I like it better than most of the newer stuff coming out on Kong.

I'm loving the improvements to the game - the better graphics quality, the character stats carrying over between games, all of it. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

@ Tea : there shouldn't be any need to play in easy in order to not have to use resurrect in every battle against standard mobs. But pack of banshees are usually killing one toon per turn... how is that manageable O_o
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kenk, are you playing at very hard mode? Try to lower the difficulty, also you can leave dungeon without losing exp and items you gain. Before re-enter a new dungeon, plz look at top, there is a level setting for monster, make them low level so that you can finish the mission easier. Have fun :)

Umm, I used to play this game some months ago, and most battles were manageable. Today I thought "let's play it again!" and... has something changed? Fights are painfully hard now...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So that's it eh? I have played four times now with four different group arangements-defeated all available enemies untill I can not earn any further experience at the end of the third level, literally kicking the games butt...and each time I get to the Planars....that's it. Can't hardly scratch them. REALLY???(yes I'm pissed...if that's it then so be it!)

The Acolyte Runath(with those two floating golden dudes)just ate me alive!,even though I had stripped them of all their power? whack.

If any of my characters were to use a less powerful weapon in one hand,I would have them hold a second weapon or a shield in the other-not a lantern or a "fetish"...at least if they couldn't see,a burning torch would seem more dangerous to the enemy-and can't they just wear the "fetish" or does it have a button that needs pressing to work? Hmm...not knocking or such...great game!

Glitch Notice: If your Rogue dies from poison, bleed, etc. while 'Hidden,' he will remain invisible in death as opposed to becoming a pile of bones. =)

There absolutley needs to be a mobile version of this game. Through Kongregate if need be. Every turn based dungeon Android game has failed miserably to compete with this game in my opinion. A dumbed down version maybe, 1 set of classes, 2nd premium?

This may be the best flash game I've ever played. Thank you for the brilliant design, and I hope to see another(and another... and another...) soon! :)

MY ROUGE!!! THEY KILLED HER IN THE SECOND ACT BEFORE ANY OF THE OTHERS HAD TIME TO RETALIATE!!(SOBBING)SHE WAS SO HOT!-IT'S NOT FAIR...OH THE HUMANITY...oh,that's right...if I just go into the save file and change the 0 to a 1 or actually...what?, it's code... not a secret code...sheesh!

My four troops took four shots in succession and dominated the solo enemy combatant.(I just restarted from scratch) My victory was dominant, not flawless-which is fair considering I outnumbered the enemy three to one.My last flawless encounter was a moment ago,the odds were even.-K.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, it would be nice if the flawless victory could be achieved when you take no damage during the battle. For example, your party attacks the enemy, kills all it can initially, stuns the others, and then kills them before they can even attack. (I have done this many times and it never gives me flawless.... seems pretty flawless to me.)

I was doing badly in battle so I closed my browser and returned, the battle restarted from the beginning.Mass retreat or try again...hmm...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I wish that you could use your powers outside combat. Why would my cleric wait until we're attacked to heal the party? I can assure you that's never happened in my dnd sessions, nor in any of the old-school RPGs like Baldur's Gate...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ souicia No, its an old school dungeon crawl where you need both strategy and tactics. Free health/power refills are a modern thing, and make a game much easier/simpler, which is not always a good thing.

So, does the emporium just suck or have I done something that stops it from updating with items above level 1? And what in the hell is the point of a thief who can't steal anything? Stealing awesome stuff is easily my favorite part of RPGs- but these guys are going the other direction, wanting me to pay actual money for a few sparks of legend and extra characters?

I miss the days of certain classes having moves that were super-effective against one type of creature, like the Ranger and Conjurer. It made some of the most frustrating portions just a bit more bearable to dispense with the rabble and get to the guy who's gonna one-shot someone on his next turn. All that's left is the additional debuff Undead get from the Cleric's Holy Light.

Best fun I've ever had in this game was getting rank 20 gear on a lvl 1 and just plowing through endless for an hour.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Man. I thought this game was great, but on higher levels it's 100% luck. After about level 7 the enemies have way too many insta-kill-all-your-guys skills. If they use them, you lose. If they don't use them, you win. Just pure luck. So evey fight all you do is reset the game over and over and over until you get a fight where the enemy doesn't pull out a nuke.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Completely awesome, though after further review I would like to see legendary monsters like the last game. Also, vampires are obnoxiously over powered. often getting getting three or four turns in a row and/or healing completely every turn. Still 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Amazing... except for the fact that 99% of the time I feel like the enemy is gonna pull out a freaking nuke and I'll reset meh game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Should have a "free mode" than was like the other games, descend on each floor have a legendary to fight, etc, because just complete quests its too "objective" to enjoy all the game, a 4/5 game for me. + if you want to play like the good-old monster den times
