easy achievements in game to get 600 renown: start act VI with whatever criteria the desired achievement requires (hardcore, extreme difficulty, 2/3 party members, etc.) and just immediately leave the dungeon. Instant achievements.

This is the best Monster's Den game yet! And that's high praise for this game coming from me. I remember playing the original when it first came out, and it was a great game then (still would be now). Book of Dread was an improvement upon the first game, providing more classes and more enemies, as well as new gear and a better gear store. And now, there are even MORE classes, an improved inventory system with sorted auto-looting, AND the game saves each customizable character's progress! I can't wait for Godfall to be released, because I genuinely can't get enough of Monster's Den.

You don't need healing or golems, you just need your conjuror and his shadow casting Time Warp to deny your opponent any action. With high enough quickness and 100% starting action (shards!), you can solo any difficulty, and always get flawless. It's a lot faster if you have a bunch of area attacks with high crit chance, though, say a sorceror (plus shadow) and an inquisitor (with a barbed brutaliser for further action denial).

These teams we made are effective cause they can survive and kill things. The damage isn't amazing, but it's much more important to make sure you can survive if you have to. Currently if I had to break down the damage I would say that it's ~40% conjurer + his golems (he's got a lot of quickness and hits hard), ~30% confessor (smite, smite, smite, smite), ~25% warden (depends on if you can use envenomed arrow... almost everything is undead and will avoid the poison. If I need a heal at this point it's usually nature's balm so less dmg.), and warrior ~5% (slow and hits like a noodle but his job is to eat hits, give +20% dmg reduction to melee, and +20% passive dmg reduction to back row. Cleric in back middle to give his passive power/hitpoint regen and to eat the line attacks with warrior from that one boss thing. In the beginning cleric had to pass turns a LOT until he got better power regen.

Similar to my team FC Brazil that is at lvl 47 and has had very few issues along the way. Instead of a captain I use a champion warrior. Why? Because a passive 20% damage reduction to the entire back row is amazing and makes it easier to focus 100% intellect on all 3 of my back row guys without worry. I'll admit the captain has better last 3 moves though (rearrange for gouls would be cool. I just block gouls with golems and hope for the best). Instead of inquisitor I took the confessor. Benedicition, flash heal, and heal all looked really useful. However, at lvl 47 in endless he just spends 90% of his time using smite anyway (only ever used heal all and flash heal a few times). I don't think cleric choice matters much. Warden and conjurer are the same and they are amazing. Golems and disintegrate are soo good. Gear your conjurer people!!!

Fairly simple graphics but oh man, that’s a well made game with purely strategical battles. But let's talk about business: after intense pain picking up the wrong character, - sorcerer instead conjuror don’t even think doing that - conjuror’s golem warrior ability gives you up to two extra fighters to soak damage. Disintegration is another key move. My team also uses a captain in front line, Inquisitor behind healing or using spells, warden shooting or ressurecting like cleric. With this beauty I managed to finish campaign 3 and I’m proceeding happy to 4. Or not so happy, this place is creepy…

Why is this game trending? I admit that it's a great game-- I paid for the extra 10 characters-- but it's been out a few years. What's going on today?

Awesome game. I enjoy this version of a turn-based game. I would quickly sell the items I didn't need keep the ones I needed... and then suddenly I ended up with 5 full bags of items I deemed worthy of keeping... I think I am a hoarder...

Most OP combo I've found so far if you can time it right: Inspire + Anoint + Eagle Eye buffs on Ranger, Turn on Marksman. If you use Hail of Arrows, 2/3 of enemy team dies. If you use Envenomed Arrow, you are probably going to 1-shot something or do serious damage to a boss.

Game seemed really fun but now I think I am just carrying on playing it out of spite. On my first attempt I made it to the bottom floor of the dungeon without much problem. Now I can barely get to floor two. With every level I gain the enemies get harder and harder to kill. That would be alright if not for the fact that they are also in increasingly large groups. Pick one or the other. They scale disproportionally to the player's characters to the point where they are killing me in one hit and it takes me three full turns to kill one of them. The retreat option is entirely useless as it seems to give the enemy two full turns of attack rather than the one it claims. I know picking extreme and hardcore might not have been the best idea but I did want a challenge. This however just seems to be impossible.

I could see a more polished and improved version of something like this on steam greenlight. I'd be down for a game like this on steam.

The game has some huge flaws. No reason to learn/summon golem, when you have 3 melee fighters. why can't melee fighters attack from back row, but attack into back row? Enemies are too hard on normal compared to myself and quest rewards... Ridiculous.

I can say I can no longer make it past Act I level I, I am slaughtered in the first 2-3 battles with no hope of victory. I will not be back to play this game 1/5 - (when it was first released it was a 5/5)

This game is still badly balanced, Level 5 human enemy and I've already done 2K damage to it and it's not dead yet. Meanwhile my level 8 cleric still has less then 100 hp. Something seems very OFF.

loot seems so much worse than previous iterations..looks great visually, lots of improvements all around...but halfway into first map on act two and ive still yet to find upgrades for most of the beginning white equipment.

Hmm, both of these boots are similar...Same armor rating, same buffs...WAIT! This one's more expensive. You get those. No party of mine is going to dig through dungeons in peasant wear!

It's funny how a captain can heal people my moralizing them. "Sir, I just got stabbed in the heart! What do I do?" "Just shrug it off." "Oh, wow! I'm suddenly not hurt!"

You can change the gender of any character once you've selected them by clicking on the cog wheel icon and make all your characters female if you want.

Well, I've only gained a couple levels... but I like that I can grind each character or push forward. It's a bit slow paced, but I'm a sucker for turn based RPGs. It feels like there's a lot to this game; will come back to play it for fun later.
