There's no apparent reason for using various weapons, most melee weapons seem to be identicle, only reason not to stick to a given ranged weapon is because random enemies will be immune to it. There needs to be either a tutorial explaining the different weapons and how enemies react to them, or an explanation tagged onto each weapon to explain differences (range, damage, if enemies are immune to it)
