Haha, I remember this. For getting the hard badge I actually played in a laggier browser (IE I think) so I got more time to react and think regarding what I was doing.

Well this is stupid. Sometimes there's just not enough pills spawning to even stay alive. I got literally every pill and avoided all dice. Still died.

A survival game where you're likely to die to a lack of resources which the game randomly fails to spawn as many as you need. And it has badges? Was Sept. 2008 that bad of a month?

Lag can help a fair bit in getting the hard badge but it’s still very luck based, especially with how often the sanity gauge outpaces the pill spawn rate leaving you reliant on the death dice to spawn pills. And the hitboxes have been mentioned a fair bit already. The hard badge won’t take too long as a single game but with how often you die to factors beyond your control, it adds up. Luckily, you still gain points after dying so if you’re close and get cornered, jump to extend the amount of time before the game ends, that’s how I managed to get it at least.

Before I started playing the game I was reading the best comments and was wondering, "What is with these weird comments, especially the one about dancing bus signs?" Then I started playing the game and they made sense. But if people had no idea that the comments were about this game, they would be thinking what are these people talking about.

@Somelame: "Drugs Are Really Excellent Badge
(30 points - 7,664 awarded)" when I view the hard badge compared to the "Bathroom Cabinet Sampler Badge
(5 10 points - 178,242 awarded)". So people have gotten the hard badge, but it looks like it is only about 1 in 23 people who have gotten the easy badge have gotten the hard badge.

Took about a dozen tries got the easy badge of the day. I wonder if anyone has achieved the 10,000 hard badge, doesn't seem possible for me.

There's some serious memory buildup the further I play the game. Around 2,000 points, it lags hard. It makes it easier to play at least, but it's still irritatingly slow.

These intro shot sounds and their volume killed me. BRB convincing the neighbors that they don't need to call the police.

Dice persist for an irritatingly long time after hitting the ground. After the loose ALL falling momentum, if I stub my toe on them I die. And they last for a full second longer than they have any business existing. This was not a game designed to be a challenge but one designed to laugh at cheap deaths.

I gotta stay high all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
High all the time
To keep you off my mind
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Spend my days locked in a haze
Trying to forget you babe
I fall back down

So some dice are death dice, but all dice one-hit-kill you. All objects one-hit you, except pills. There is nothing special about the dice they could all be lead bricks. This seems like a place a hitpoint system could have come in, with each colision being random amounts of damage. But apparantly the dev here disagreed.

There should be a minimum spawn rate of pills, so that you won'nt clock out simply for not getting enough pills. That would put the balance more in direction of skill rather than just luck... even though luck is the theme of the game.

I think the game might straight up base the spawn of every element on frame rate, meaning that when the game goes at a fluid framerate it spawns way too many things. Not to mention it has a memory leak of some sorts, since after a while it starts to chug somewhat... which is actually positive since when it lags it actually starts to spawn a reasonable amount of entities (no more 4 death dice at once!), except after a while it chugs so much it's too painful to be enjoyable. Which basically means you can't play the game when you've just loaded it, and you can't play after a few minutes of gameplay. So to reasonably have a shot at the hard badge you need to hit that sweet spot and hope to get it in that run, otherwise you need to wait and play a few hopeless runs before you can try again. That's a little unfair...

To all who complain that this should be an impossible badge, the thing is this game doesn't deserve to be holding 60 points+ as it hasn't reached the minimal specifications of an impossible badge in kongregate and it only can afford 40 points according to the 2 principals of this site and I really don't have an idea what I'm talking about.
