good game. Visually appealing. The gameplay is solid. I lament that there is no point in performing a regular attack once you have restore MP. In fact, once you get phoenix strike and remei in combination with restore MP and large heal, that's all you do. especially on the 2nd play through. Switching position/stances is a good way to put strategy and timing in the game. However, you might lose players to boredom, because you can stay in a defensive stance and easily beat the game, without risk.

So, I began this game after the latest patch and started out on level 31. after finishing the game (level 49 with 8.3 million hit points), I continued to play in prestige mode. I have completed another five areas (about 1/3 of the game) and gotten 25 of the achievements, yet I still have not gotten any spells. Where did I go wrong? Without them, it took 36 minutes to kill the final boss. Also, you only get about a third of the pink gems needed to craft the last two swords.

Boring gameplay, copper light sword op while being a basic weapon, never got to see limit break level 3, this game was a disappointment, because I did like the graphics/combat style

hm, this game is kinda too easy. i did not need to replay even one battle, so i suggest there shall be a 'Normal' Difficult button which increases Monster's stats, ammount and maybe rewards? the downside of not needing to replay anything was that i learned Esuana and Lv 3 Limit just at the moment when the last Boss died. well it died by poision when i was aiming with my lv 2 limit on him, so i used lv3 on the first mob ever in the first stage. but here one more question: why can i enter only the first level when the game is finished?? but the base is given and i am looking forward for the sequel :)

A very fun game with a lot of potential, but a lot to do as well.
First, skills should scale with your level. You get a 5000MP restore spell early on when you don't have more than 200. More things to craft like armors and rings(and maybe even rare/passive skills?) would be nice and something to do with the materials you don't need as well. I would like to see information about the enemies and the pet should help in some way.
Getting little passive perks from some of the achievements(or all of them) would also be cool.
Good job on reading and answering the comments, btw!

Not to be rude, but this is extremely unoriginal. Brings almost nothing new to the table in terms of play elements, story, music, etc., and a lot of concepts are blatantly ripped off from superior games. There's also a pretty substantial number of bugs that negatively affect gameplay. It's kind of disappointing that this is as many improvements as you think the game needs.

Like the simple design and layout! I typically abandon this sort of game if it takes me more than ten minutes to figure everything out. The art also reminds me of the old game boy color games--very nice. My major complaint however is the protagonist is annoying as heck--give him a better attitude and this will be golden!

A fun game, but I'd recommend increasing the difficulty level for the first playthrough. I didn't really see much challenge, and few people are going to play a second time through to see the enhanced difficulty.

SPOILER! Easy way to take out final boss... Keep him poisoned with broken armour. He will be taking 12k+ damage per round just from the poison. +1 this to help out people struggling with final boss.

having more characters (and maybe even a choice of job or whatever) would make the game much more interesting! the game is simple yet fun, but has alot of potential too!

i like the game, 5 stars, and in my fav. list,
but, and thats the only problem:
the game is far to easy...
i have 26/28 achivements @ the first run (never died) the best weapon, never fight twice...
pls made a "normal/hard" mode
(and dont only raise the monsters hp, it dont make it stronger, it only makes the fight longer...)

(spoilers) Metaphor! The game is art/design/game school, the big monster at the end is your portfolio project, and the army of big monsters at the end is getting a job where you fight them every day. Mhm mhm.

Seriously, in which world is this even close to a rpg? Gosh, people really need to set their genre definition straight. This is just but a pretty boring click-and-click game (yup, click-and-click is a genre - i just made it up).

Having stubbornly played this three times through, I will say I is a decent enough game, but has a LOT of bugs, plus some tweaking to do. First, the bugs. My player disappears a lot. Also, the slow and broken shield icons stay above the enemy well after the effect has worn off. Same with the broken weapon icon even after I have fixed it. It makes it impossible to know if you really need to fix your shield, or if you should try to slow your enemy or break their shields again. As for the tweaking..the Landslide is so much more powerful than the Phoenix, yet only half the mana. I couldn't find any enemy that this was not the case. And then the last boss may seem hard, but all it takes is the Hellthorn and it becomes one of the easiest levels in the whole game. That is not good for game balance. And maybe add some new skill like instead of just buying weapons, you can upgrade them through a forger. So the damn upside down birds aren't able to break my sword EVERY time.

It is a good thing this is a prelude and you let yourself open for feedback, because how the game stands now, it is just too shallow to offer any other challenge than choosing an attack and heal at the right time. How this translates into being "an exciting spin on turn based RPGs" is beyond me. Others have pointed out some things and given good tips I agree with: have a more diverse library of soundbytes, get character development in there (controlled by the player), and come up with something that deepens the possible strategies and tactics in the battles. I know that is the most difficult part of it, but as it stands now, it is just too boring: nothing new and/or interesting.

Exceedingly enticing! I'll admit, the one character thing and also in-game progress being pretty much irrelevant of the player's skill was a tiny bit annoying, but for a start of a game series that didn't take very long to beat it was awesome. I saw bugs, glitches and typos, but just the same, 5/5 in hopes of a promising future!

Okay, just got through.
Boss is pretty easy if you know what you're doing.
Power up with Frenzy, attack with Phoenix and Ramei for Slow and Armor Shatter effect and restore mana when needed. Heal whenever the health gets halved or below. The ending pretty much says what i said before, needs a party to play with instead of one single warrior.
Can't wait for the sequel!

bug, the "Special" attacks, "limit break" the the others, all leave there visuals on after the first time its used, till the next battle.

Good game with a lot of potential.
But yeah, you REALLY need to add more characters, like a party of 3 or so, customization options when you level up and more equipment like armors, helmets and stuff.

I stopped upgrading when I got the speed weapon.. it seemed pointless if I can go 2 times and it didn't matter beyond that since every time I would use magic which was not dependent on weapon.. and do it twice.. Never died..
