Because he had to take the cat back when he took the dog over, or else the dog would have eaten the cat when he went back for the fish. It's a classic riddle/logic puzzle.

i finally noticed how to beat battle bat. get titanium warheads at flooded depths and you pierce the armor with normal bomb throw

I already saw some people in the back of ocmments saying its impossible - there wrong - last bump near fishy u gotta hang to cieling fall and jump at perfect time for the lower cieling - so he knows u have double jump - keep this comment alive or rate up!

i love the " robot wants ......" games but ad the end i had alot dificult whit jumping from the roof too the other roof so 4/5

too bad robot doesnt have his two trusty sidekicks...even though kitty and puppy hate each other, robot could use their anger on the enemies!

Otor don't listen to lim. he's not telling WHAT you need to kill Battle bat.
What you need is the warheads which makes bombs and harpoons explode. which is found in Flooded depths.

Hey iblob... Thats really easily fixed.
You take the cat across, leaving the dog and fish.
Then you head back and pick up the fish and take it to the other side.
HOWEVER, before you leave take the cat across leaving the fish.
Then swap it for the dog and bring it over to the fish.
Then go back for the wittle cat and take it over.
And congragulations you crossed the river!! LOL!! Great Game 5 stars!!
*Trust me this works they wont fight until you leave them alone so lotsa swaps.

iblob, There's a way. He goes with the cat, then let it alone. Goes back, pick the fish and swap it with cat. Goes back, swap the cat with the dog. Drop the dog with the fish. And pick the cat and drop with the fish and the dog.

I got right up near the very end with the key and all the powers, but was unable to complete the upside down drop and midair jump onto the lower ceiling even after trying over 100 times. It just won't let me do it no matter what I try.

Fun until just before the yellow key. Then not so fun. If the game had consistently presented that kind of challenge throughout the game, it'd be expected, but not right before your last goal. Frustrating. 4/5 though... great music and overall design. Bosses were hard but not awful.

@iblob The answer to your so called riddle is:
1. Take cat across leave there
2. go back retrieve dog and take to other side but get cat from other side also
3. back across and get fishy and leave cat, put fishy with dog on the other side
4. go back across last time and get cat and bring to other side
