To those saying this is like Pet Protector: that's because both are clones of a Japanese series called Princess Maker. (As far as I know Princess Maker 2 is the only one that you can find with the game text in English, the rest are Japanese only.)

The combat seems a tad unfair, what with the fighters have 100 health and figuring out how to up my character's hit points not being all that intuitive.

OK, so each outfit changes a few stats, based on what Im seeing.
Schoolgirl does nothing.
Kimono increases Intelligence, Refinement, Sensitivity, Cooking and Cleaning.
Cowgirl increases Strength and all Combat Stats.
Catgirl increases Sensitivity.
Summer increases Intelligence but lowers the Defenses.
Winter increases Stamina, as well as the Defenses.
Party increases Refinement, Decorum, Art, Cooking, Cleaning, and Temperament.
Black increases Charisma, Sin, and Art, but lowers Morality.
Priestess increases Intelligence, Morality, Faith, and all Magic Stats, but lowers Sin.
Princess increases Intelligence, Refinement, Sensitivity, and Decorum.
Champion increases Stamina, Strength, and Intelligence, as well as the Skill Stats and Attack Stats.
Awesome Coat increases Stamina, Strength, and Charisma, as well as the Skill Stats and Attack Stats.

Jumpsuit increases Stamina, Intelligence, Faith, and both Defenses.

Since new players seem to struggle a lot with money I'll lend some advice. Remember people, your daughter spends 50 gold per month for food, you have to work at a job that actually pays more per month than that, and you probably are going to fail a lot in the beginning, but that's because your daughter doesn't have the right skills, so continue working at a job that gives your daughter the stats you want her to have, and eventually, you'll start earning a large ton of money.

I absolutely adored this game! I liked the art style, although it could have been a bit more detailed. I wish you could have customized your daughter and have had love interests. Please make a sequel? Pretty please?
