The day after I played this, I thought it would be really cool if there was a phone version so I could play it any time.
guess what: THERE IS

Great game but really needs clearer instructions. Not a good sign if I need to go read comments to understand how the game works.

A couple of hints to make the game more enjoyable: instead of hiding monsters when clicking on them, totally remove them from the board and update the numbers. Also, make it possible to mark undisclosed squares to remember what's beneath them

Wow. This is a seriously awesome take on minesweeper. Unfortunately, most people don't like minesweeper and won't like this little twist.

I really like the way that this game works. Maybe if there was a marking system (drag one of the creatures over an unchecked square or something) this would be even better.

Holy shit... I might not even be able to play regular minesweeper any longer. I LOVE this. I was really close to give myself over to the 5/5... Buuut it's a pity that the bigger versions aren't available on Kong. 5/5 is still an option though, I'm gonna think about it.

This is great! It's insane how you took Minesweeper and somehow made it better! However, it took me a while to figure out that you can switch between seeing the monster and the number beneath it, and it would have saved me some trouble if I had known that beforehand.

This game surprised me. I was expecting just a minesweeper clone, but this is actually a very fun twist on a classic game. 4/5 for lack of in game instructions, otherwise excellent.

A couple of additional controls/features would take this from being an excellent game to a game that was a delight to play
- "mouse drag" clearing - being able to clear an area by dragging your mouse across it rather than clicking cell by cell.
- "two button clear" being able to clear all surrounding squares by clicking both mouse buttons (as in minesweeper)
- Auto-clear on level up - if you mark a square (as a 3 say) then when you hit that level those squares should auto clear
They are only minor additions to what is a great concept but would bring the game to a new level :)

you could even implement classes. Ranger could see a block once per level without actually clicking it. warrior could defeat a monster of 1 level greater once per level. wizard could start with an open area. Just to think of some off of the top of my head. Cool game though.

Press A and D to mark squares with the value of the monster underneath. Press A to count down from 5. Press D to count up from 2.
I don't know why the developer just didn't let you press the actual keyboard numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5.
The white numbers in the square indicate the point value of the monsters around it. In minesweeper this was the number of bombs around it. So a square with a 4 could have the following combinations of monsters around it: (4), (3, 1), (2,1,1), (1,1,1,1), or (2,2). Notice they all add up to 4, the number on the white square.

Brilliant. The awful instructions made the game even funnier by making it harder to get into. Unfortunately, I don't have enough stars for you. Take my daughter instead.

The instructions were really confusing at first but it's REALLY fun once you get the hang of it. You need prior knowledge of how Minesweeper works first, then the number is the you see is the total level of monsters around that number =D
A lot of mind math of adding and subtracting but afterwards it gets really fun, and when you get high enough level (by getting monsters either your level or below) you can kill all the monsters when you get to level 5 xD click to your hearts content lol!!

Terrible instructions, but great game once you figure it out. Definitely the most original Minesweeper mod I've ever played.

now only thing missing is that if you tag a square with a number and you click on that square it should only open if you're level equals or is higher than the mark on the square

Absolutely fascinating twist on minesweeper! I love that hitting a monster on your first few clicks--which are always purely guesswork--isn't an automatic lose. Thanks to all the commenters w/helps too :)

I love this game. I loved mine sweeper and i love thhis one.
But it would REALY help if there was so kind of markers.
Counting the same monster's power 6 times becuse i forgot is annoying.

this is actually easier than minesweeper lol, interesting concept, but need to find a way to make this more difficult.

SHORTEST INSTRUCTIONS
Reveal all cells to win. Some cells contain a white # or an enemy. Click an enemy to show its level in red, equal to its damage/HP (your level only equals your damage). Turns alternate invisibly in fights; you attack first. White #s are the sum of all red #s in the 8 adjacent cells.

Can I please port this onto my smartphone? I want to know the contented feeling of always carrying a monstersweeper dungeon in my pocket.

I will give this a 5/5 in the hopes that a high ranking will encourage a better translation of the instructions (as it stands the rules are in LouWeed's comment, not the game instructions).
