Another Alice is Dead easter egg, suggesting they are in the same universe; and the submarine is a fish, which feature prominently in Alice. Also, computer screens apparently exist in Alice (they're all over) but not Hood, as my character here seemed confused to see them, yet there they are in the fish. Perhaps this is the "Above" and someone came through in the fish with Oystercloud...

So... Get the apple from the tree outside the hut and click it to receive teeth. Give them to the imp and get a machine part back. Read the book inside the fish and use that sequence on the knobs left of the steam tank. Click the green button that lights up and put the machine part back. Talk to the monster behind the fish. Pick up another machine part from the murky water outside the hut, use the knife with the electrodes inside the fish and give your hammer to the elder outside for the final piece. Use the computer and...Done!

Select knife. Then select apple. Then take the teeth from the apple and give to the imp-thingy-with-a-nail-in-its-head. That is how you get a machine part.
