Hint: the laser moves as fast as you are when outside the screen, so no matter how fast you go it will be just behind you as soon as you slow down. So stop worrying about outrunning it and concentrate on getting the jumps right.

a really nice challenging game but i'd prefer it if it was slightly more zoomed out so you could see what was ahead of you to better plan your route up.

5/5 for a simple but addictive game. I had to think about how you managed to make it a random spawn that increased in difficulty but never gave me a jump that was impossible, until I got one that was *almost* impossible and I figured it out. If two large spikes are at exactly the same spot across from each other, it's impossible. Everything else is possible, with time and skill. Great design + execution. I only with there was an option to use a different key...my esc started making this weird squeaky noise 50 plays in.
Actually, two large shockers across from each other is quite do-able. Your character jumps 6m vertically with a full jump and the largest shocker is 4m tall, so as long as you are close to the bottom of one when you jump and you do a full jump, you should make it. Thanks for playing!

After a long time of playing I just realize the spikes don't even kill you. They just shock you and then the laser kills you

Something I've learned: if you're going fast enough to get that cool afterimage blur effect, you're going too fast to judge whether you're going to jump into the spikes.

Finally got EXACTLY 350m when I was forced to jump into the opposing wall spikes due to the laser being right behind me. Would have been pissed if it had been 349 tho...

Walkthrough: press escape once, wait till youre at the other side, wait till youre at the bottem, keep holding esc, but release it a sec when youre at a wall, try this 5 times, ???, profit your easy badge, thumb up

Why can't you get a head start on the laser? No matter how fast (or slow) you go at the beginning, it's always there in the same place.

This is truly a wonderful game, especially for being made in 74 hours. The generator is really something, 100% reliable or something close to it. I managed to get to 385.. Some tips: If you haven't figured it out already, holding the Esc key in makes your cute little ninja guy thing jump higher. Tapping it makes him do a short jump, great for quick spike dodges, and for this next tip: for parallel spikes, if you can't just High Jump over them, short jump right under one of the spikes, then do a high jump. No jumps are truly impossible.. It just takes a little knowledge of how the game works. + so people can see!

A little too random -- sometimes areas are impassable (at least with the limited amount of time from the rising laser), but I like the look and sound of the game, and the simple concept is addictive. Vertical climbers are in! 3/5.

i am laughing so hard right now! i spent 2 days trying to get the hard badge. today i tried just hitting the escape key over and over again, only letting go when i hit the wall. you can go really really fast that way. on my 1st try i got 354 metres and the hard badge. it only took me a few seconds. hit + so others can see. it's really hard to get a new comment to be a top comment, but people need to see this.

I'd like to suggest taking out the possibility for two spike walls to sit DIRECTLY across from each other. If they span 3 blocks or more, it's just about impossible to get around them, assuming you haven't built up speed.

351!! great mechanics man. the game does what its supposed to do perfectly, so no frustration comes from the game not quite doing it right. and thats really all you can ask it to do. simple concept but a perfect brief time-killer. 4/5 :)
