There is actually a very simple way to get the largest 9 combo. leave a nest with less than 4 gloopies and wait for a clutter. Notice that 20 clutters can stay on the screen even when there are lesser gloopies left. Dodge the baby clutters and go for the kill.

how to get 8-combo award: make some clutters shoot mini-clutters at u until ur full and cant carry anymore, wait until 2 monsters are heading towards you, shake all the clutters off and kill them together with the other monsters in 1 swing (you gotta hit as soon as you dropped the clutters)
how do get 300 point-swing award: hit a cracked grinder 4 times, hit when there are at least 2 monsters reachable with your sword at the same time as you make the killing blow on the grinder, the combo from the other monsters will multiply the grinder's score (100) on 3 (300)

Main Character: "Ha, I finally defeated you Razor Queen! Now it's time to take one of your mandibles to be my new sword."
Razor Queen: "grrrr..."
Main Character: "Oh, still alive 'eh?" *raises word to devilver finishing blow*
At that moment, a gloople runs into him and knocks him over.
Main Character: "Ahh, what the-?"
Razor Queen: *seizing the opportunity, decapitates main character*

The best way to fill the bestiary quickly (thus getting the Medium badge faster) is to go to the Fast Bounty Run, seeing as strong enemies do not take long to appear.

When you get the second equipt slot, but on the armor and the hazmat suit at the same time. It looks frikking SWEET. Otherwise, love this game. Addicting, good difficulty curve, and something new is always happening. 5/5 +fav'd

This game totally deserves a remake of some sort. I would love to splat Glooples with glorious modern graphics. Think of the possibilities, all the additional functionality begging to be added. For example, I have always been bummer this can't be played in multiplayer. Even as it is now, this is probably my favorite game on this website and it has been for many years.

They do that sometimes, Neosublimation, a while ago 'It Belongs in a Museum' in Enchanted Cave 2 was the BotD twice in two months.

Contrary to the flavor text on the badge you get for killing a bunch of Biters, I find that often, I die when a Green Gloople bumps into me, and stuns me juuuuuuust long enough for a meltie to meander over and murder my ass. Ugh!

*throws repulse spike when biter lunges and runs* "I'm saved!" *biter gets thrown in a spiral right into me* "....or not."

Erm... random glitch. Apparently, both a Fuzzle and Sharp managed to kill me at the same time. Thus, I had two corpses. 0_0

for anyone who wants new species of gloople then kill all of the glooples exept one, DO NOT KILL THE LAST ONE. just let it go off the screen a few (million) times and eventually you will be getting tonss of new species. if a biter appers just get it to lunge at you while u r near the edge of the screen, dodge the attack and a new species will form (probably the common gloople), but if you keep going you will get queens and razor queens in no time. if you leave melties they will go off the screen soon, stickies wiil do the same. only kill it if it is an amagaram as they cannont be killed by gonin off the screen, or of course, what what you want to kill.

This game isn't supposed to be a cakewalk. It's you against deadly threats. It's a game that you slowly master to become a deft swordsman and it feels great. The controls are simple as pie so I don't know how people have trouble with that. You must learn how to dodge swiftly; most enemies attack in a straight line and can be sidestepped regardless of how slow our hero is. The sword probably weighs him down. If you REALLY need a burst of speed, there is a sprint ability too... This game has it all!

I'm surprised this isn't in the top rated yet, I am positive this isn't a new thought. Anyway, if you want to practice against a horror/gray/void-eater (Combination Gloople) you can simply go into practice and hang around with only glooples/biters/oozles/grays untill you find one :-) This will also add it to your bestiary.

Lol I bumped into a regular goople near the end of a big nest, which was immediately followed by slamming into two melties and a stickie, then was eaten a biter as a grinder rolled on top of my mangled-half-melted corpse. I think that deserves some sort of award in itself.

I started playing again (though I'm nowhere near when I was able to shell out 20k+ HC Bounty runs) so here are some random tips:
- Sprint is very overlooked but every serious splatter should have it on them
- Know your swing range including the deadzone right infront you and remember your sword has wind which will still splat a little bit after swinging
- Avoid swinging near the edges, you can never know when a torchie enters
- Steering threats out of the screen is often the most viable strategy
- Take that 2 or 3 grinder combo instead of dying while trying to set up that good swing
- You can use frosties as an on-demand life saver shield if you let them circle you
- HC bounty is best played with Razor Glaive, Reactive Armor and Sprint
