Nice game, but it seemed somewhat anti-climatic. Also, given the time achievement, it essentially sets the game up for a rush approach - you lead a small powerful group and you kill every building in your way before anyone can build an offense - dropping healing spells as necessary. However, with this said, despite being designed for rush tactics your troops seem to ignore a building after its health has been depleted, it costs valuable time to redirect them to capture.

It's a good game. However, many strategy possibilities are crippled because your soldiers can only obey your orders up to a certain point, which means attacking whatever comes first in the road to wherever you sent them to attack (like, when they go for the gold chests rather than a castle you ordered them to), and the impossibility of retreating.
Also, a not-so-good feature in a strategy game is the one where your enemies do not seem to think like you. What I mean is that the opponents always simply spawn troops in their towns/castles, rather than sending them forward to try and conquer you. Well, that does happens sometimes, but not nearly often enough as you do. How could a general expect to conquer a territory just by sitting and awaiting the enemy's attack?
Anyway, the game is highly enjoyable. I spent quite some time playing it, and I like it.

Why do our archers leave a city to attack the enemy? Why not just shoot arrows over the wall and not endanger our last line of defense?

..needs shortcuts for selecting all of your troops and for numbering different groups :) nonetheless, this is my favorite Kongregate RTS yet

I was kind of hoping for the ability to takeover the whole continent or like a big massive fortress at the end (not 4 in a circle) or something. Don't get me wrong, it's a 5/5 in my opinion, but I feel the end is somewhat lacking. You get all these upgrades, and then you can't use them really because the games over, and all you can do is try to beat the same levels faster. oh well

This game is absolutely terrible. You can't even control your own units (ex. "oh man, there's an ogre along this path to their castle! Lets attack that instead!"), there's no hotkeys for anything, and it's ridiculously easy. The way edicts are done is terrible, too. Shoulda just given 1/lvl, and have edicts unlock each other. 1/5 no sequel pls

i wish you could make your men disengage from a battle instead of them going "look at me im awsome" and take on 3 squads and die....

ive played this game before a other site and i think it would be nice with a multiplayer and a longer campaign with bigger maps

Great game, except for one flaw: It seems there's no way to tell my troops to retreat after engaging the enemy; this is really annoying, as it cuts down on flexibility a lot

I'll add one more voice to the "timers in strategy games are a terrible metric for success" chorus. Fun game with a few flaws, but the speed mechanic for perfects is really upsetting.

You can spam the hell out of that heal spell. *gets into fight, spams heal about 3 times* Literally impossible to lose with that spell.

great game, but not being able to retreat is annoying, although it does also add some strategy in the mix. not that it lacks any. the hordes campaign was pretty easy after you figured out that you could win with only magic. just use super worms and then summon an immortal squad near their base = insta-capture. you'd still need to fight regularly in the beginning though.

Decent game however the melee class I never used, only ranged (and had no problem receiving perfects) so seems a tad unbalanced in that regard 4/5

k, it's cool. i like it for casual playing. but: i do not like the upgrade menu AND i do not like the rating system. to make a perfect turn you have to ignore the most oportunities to increase your chances of winning and not loosing a single unit. i just have to rush into all castles to barely kill all my people for being perfect? really? no. 4/5, still.

It must have been a lot of work making the Rivadis Empire. Will you use them for a prequel (hopefully explaning the rise of the necromancers)?

I liked the first missions - but those others I didn't, because it takes too long, till you can get your next unit after one is killed and you could'nt choose in most missions which warrior type to play with.

I have to agree with most people. The goal of combat is not to utterly decimate your foes but to defeat them with as little losses as possible. Perhaps change the rating system from timed to one where if you lose a certain amount of troops/towers then you go down a rating. Like for level 1, it is really hard to not lose any troops when you first play, so that could be maybe lose a single troop and you still get perfect, or 3 troops for great, and so on. It just feels less like strategy and more like action when you are timed.

The post-combat pathing for units is really bad. I just missed a Perfect rating on a level by one second because a unit surrounding a castle wasted 5 on going back to the point from which they charged into combat instead of just occupying the castle they're standing right on top of.

Concentrate your forces on taking over towers. They are not that good on foot and as you probably noticed one can't use unltimate ability without towers.
