I think that a minor boost from achievements would be nice, I know other people have mentioned it and I'm just putting my opinion down. Some could be + starting gold. Completing paladin based achievements might let you start with one paladin in front of your stronghold. Sending lots of units to their death might boost their max health, etc. I don't think this game needs it, it has a very nice difficulty, but maybe for the sequel! (please make a sequel!)

I really think that Ironhide Studios should add sandbox mode and endless mode to this game. Then this game would be perfect. With sandbox mode you could deck out your dream defense with hordes of monsters, and with endless mode, you would never have to think "aw" when a level ends again. Press + if you agree!

They are indeed semi-arbitrary feel-good bonuses, but isn't that what games are all about? I mean, you play games for fun, and if some sort of meta-system adds to that, then why not?
Also, good games deserve the recognition they get from badges. I know, having alot of people play and rate the game is also recognition, but it's just a discrepancy that less popular games do have badges and this one doesn't.

u know most, most tower defense games i'd get bored of because of repetition but this game seems different. like an addicting sort of feel. great job ironhidegames. when i finish this one i'll check out the second

I think an interesting addition for an expansion or sequel would be the introduction of a flying defense unit, like a Valkyrie. This could take the form of a full barracks upgrade or as a special ability to an existing structure, much like the rock elemental in the sorcerer mage tower. Personally I never use the 'hunting nets' ability; it could easily be replaced by this, though I imagine players would want separate rally points for their barbarians and valkyries. Maybe not ... This same concept could be integrated in other towers as well; like a special ability to build one or two sylvan elves at the ranger's hideout, or perhaps satyrs, or even a bear. Of course, you don't want to overdo it by saturating all the towers with extra units. But I think the valkyrie idea in particular is interesting and would add to the variety of the gaming experience.

This game was available on Armor Games in July of 2011. To date it has 17,717,644 plays on that site. It was clearly a great game from the start, but was not made available on Kongregate for whatever reasons developers make their games exclusive. Now that it's finally been introduced to the Kong site, Kong's admins do not feel the desire to increase the notoriety of the game through badges after being snubbed for six months. The fact is that people are going to play this game whether or not it has badges.
But this is only part of the scenario. Another question is Why do you need badges to enjoy a game? As far as the player is concerned they are just semi-arbitrary benchmarks to gain points and raise your Kongregate level WHICH DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING AND DOESN'T REALLY MATTER! This is a great game, if you have fun playing it that is what really matters. Stop whining about badges and play games you like, for crying out loud!

Why don't units kill enemies converted into sheeps?!
I was playing Stormcloud temple (Heroic) and winning comfortably. So just for the lulz I upgraded the mage power of converting to sheep. All of a sudden 2 converted sheeps ran through my entire army with no units touching them and made me lose. That sucked!

guys guys guys i just unfroze a Sasquatch by shooting that block of ice on a snow level. he came out and defended me xD it says "mysterious cave" "this cave has been frozen solid ages ago"

I'm quite disappointed to see the mages don't have an anti-armour targeting function... it would, after all, be a bit silly to see them plinking at goblins >.< - Otherwise, brilliant game and production value with the gameplay, story and art, and the squaddy-soldier system works brilliantly!

I like that even with full upgrades each level more difficult than the prior level. That's how it should be but you don't find that in all tower defense games. It's clear that a lot of thought went into this.

At first I thought well that is another, stupid TD game, but I quickly realized that this is an incredibly cool game. You can play it for hours, seriously.

The Encyclopedia should show the special abilities of towers, not only their names, but what they do exactly, like, for the Barbarian Hall for example: It only shows "More Axes", but it doesn't say that it gives +10 attack to barbarians. It would help if you are in the middle of gameplay and don't know something, because it pauses the game for you to look it.

Ahhhh! After dozens of ragequits and hundreds of strategies, finally beat all challenges on normal and obtained all achievements! 2 full artillery and 2 full mage towers with the golem, as well as a few cheap well placed barracks knocked out the last 4 of 5 normals on regular and on elite waves. Awesome game! Challenging, every tower has its use!

Awesome game, but way too short! I love the sense of humor in the game - nice touch! Waiting for badges/more levels/modes/part 2!
