This idea is nice, and I can live with the controls, it just doesn't feel smooth. It just feels a bit as a struggle to play.

I discovered a glitch (on the Newgrounds version of the game, not sure if it works on this one) where if you purposely wait underneath a door for an ice block to shatter, the door comes down on you in such a way that it sends you into the outside boundaries of the area, where you can walk around in. There's no way to get out of it though, so you have to kill yourself. Also, I'm not sure if I'm just good at the control scheme, but I didn't have any problems with it. I beat the game without much trouble and collected all crayons as well. I can see why some people complain: there hasn't been such a straightforward platformer like this in quite a while! Except that all the power-ups are automatically built into you...besides upgrades.

I ... HATE ... FRIKKIN .. WALLJUMPS @___@
Seriously man, can´t past level 15, ´cause I suck in walljumps... T_T
Netherthenless great game - but the controls are awful.

need to have right handed and left handed control schemes, imo. use arrows for right handers and wasd for left handers. Fun game otherwise

BUG FOUND! In 4th floor, make frost cube and go to doors. Then, selec Red. You will be teleported inside celling! :O Fix please.

Primary has a very cool concept. The execution, however, is severely lacking. I spend most of my time fighting with the controls, not the black things.

Adding another comment complaining about the controls. If I could move the color change controls to the arrow keys that would be a big improvement, because my hands feel crowded together as is. And if wall jumping worked better this would work better this would be a great game. I get how to do it, kinda rolling my fingers from towards the wall to up to away, but it fails just often enough that jumping up a tall corridor with instant death at the bottom is already old before I'm even halfway through the game.

@cooljon98
Actually, properly speaking, R/G/B are the 'true' primary colours [the additive primaries]. Red, Yellow, and Blue themselves are not a primary set at all, the subtractive primary colours are made up of cyan, magenta, and yellow [the secondary additive colours].

bad to say that the basic colors are mentioned in the beginning but actually not used in game.
Talking about using primary colors you mean r,g,b - but actually this usess r,y,b - and the controls are too... uncontrolable, it seems that youre way off telling a story colides with the way to design the gameplay in usable forms

No directional key controls, no consideration for people without QWERTY keyboards, no five stars for you since I can't play it.

man i cant get past the floor 28, theres a part where you need to do small jumps but i keep doing regular jumps...... :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you have to give custom controls or players get pissed and give 1/5 for the crappy gay deaths from trying to control the characters

very nice but a bit heavy, the portals are a bother, but its true... THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!
(fish shaped toxic waste)

I like how the game is made, but in a game that requries such precise jumping, laggy controlls are unforgivable. I've spent over half an hour having the game not jump when I need it to; I never fealt like I was fighting the game, I felt like I was fighting the controlls.

Level 15 makes me want to bash my head against my keyboard repetitively.
Like everyone has already said the wall jumping in this game sucks! Way too clunky >.< You shouldn't have to use a controller to fix this problem.

Level 10 is easy if you know the trick. Just set (as blue guy) an ice block next to the boss monster and wait for the slam. But escape with one of doors before he hits you. Then go back and hit him with your flames. Repeat this three times. Happy killing :-))

I was really enjoying this. I loved the music, the look of it, the level selection in the elevator, the way the different powers worked together ... and then I hit the first boss level. That nearly finished me, but after spending five minutes on the second just sitting waiting for it to be damageable, killing it and dying because of unresponsive controls, and then the awful portal controls mapped to the same key, it's gone from 5 stars to 2 because its just become a grind now, wrestling against the controls as much as the levels.

I agree with everyones comments on how bad the controls are, however I use Xpadder with an Xbox 360 controller with A being W (jump) and X,Y, and B being J,L, and K respectively (The colors on the buttons match, too!) Left trigger is S (for invisibility) Right trigger is Space (Color abilities) and right bumper is R (open doors, activate switches). I made up on the joystick R as well, so I can open doors more intuitively. The controls in the game SUCK, but using a gamepad will make it a MUCH more enjoyable experience. Keyboard = 3/5 Gamepad = 5/5

Game gets 5/5, even though it was a bad experience... I Was so happy when I finished the first boss because I don't have to play this game anymore. Controls were sort of awkward, the tutorial puzzles could all have been in the first level instead of wasting time over a bunch of no challenge levels. the first boss was frustrating. Switching colors should be faster when you use the keyboard... Either way, the idea was brilliant, that's why it gets a 5/5, but the gameplay is way bad.

What's the point of multiple switch locks? Are they supposed to be a challenge? It's really annoying having to guess... you might aswell make it "Guess a number 1-40, right number opens the gate!!!"

Awesome game i did have fun with it. like everyone has been saying... the controls made it really hard to play. there were a few checkpoints i died trying to get 0_0
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
usually i listen to my own music while playing flash but this is a fine exception! love how the music changes as you switch powers
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i didnt mind the lag and wall jump etc, BUT level 28 just after the 1st door needs to be sorted, you cant do it because you cant mini jump on purpose and end up dying, its luck on that part not skill, and i cant get past it :@ !
