You only have to survive ~four sliding blocks to finish. So stay on the right side, but not at the hard edge, about two elephant lengths in is best.
I cheated - I used a piece of cotton thread from top to bottom of my monitor, as a single "crosshair". This helped me find the elephant while looking at the top line.

The trick to beating this is: Stay on the far right of the screen and dodge whenever a beam is overhead, return to the corner once the beam fires.

No apologies sir, I forgave you for the weirdness as soon as I discovered the awesome soundtrack upon the game. I did have trouble beating the game, mostly due to the fact that i was making the elephant dance the whole time. But I tell you, that thing has MOVES.

I heard this is the most annoying part of the epic quest, so I decided to do it first, and if I can't do it then there's no point of doing the rest, well... I was right.
Must say though, the creator and the guys in charge of assigning quests are geniuses, make a frustrating game that will take a long time to complete, and then make it pat of a quest everyone wants to complete! that increases the amount of time people spend on the game/kong inceasing the rate kong earns money, through adds of course.

Wow, last time I attempted this game I couldn't beat it for the life of me. Try again years later and do it first try. Boy, I've grown.

Mission Failed... I used to like Elephants... Then I played this game... Now I might go join the poachers... I don't think that was the effect you were going for...
