For beginner levels under half of a minute is an A and i suggest you try the beginner level at the bottom right to achieve it.

The only complaint I have is that it's almost impossible to get an A rank playing alone, there should mabey be a single player option that changes the rank times.

About the gold rating, I believe you have to beat the time indicated when hitting "Show Times" in the lower-right hand corner. I say I believe because I haven't managed to do beat the times listed, even in the tutorials. :P

What's the condition for an A rank? Do i have to achieve a perfect time on a level? I really lack the coordination to control both of them at the same time.

I do love these games, and the fact that they can work as a one or 2 player game. But why is there no R for restart button STILL? Pleeaese?

I know it sounds ludicrous, but I spent quite some time figuring out that water girl can cross melted water while fire boy can cross ice. I believe the in-game instructions should have pointed that out instead of hinting at a way that you can freeze the water. Once I figured out that minor detail, I was able to complete the game.

i personally think it's a bit annoying, since i always press the wrong buttons, and it doesn't feel right. not just that, all the sound effects are from zelda. it doesn't feel like a standalone game, it doesn't feel like a fun game at all
