Great Game!!! i love chess puzzles and want to see your game get better. just some ideas, perhaps get a unique shape/icon for each piece, if not a different character like shogi? i found playing to be kinda tedious as i need to keep checking how each piece moves.

if you have a piece right next to their flag ready to take it, why wouldnt they kill you with 1 of their 5 possible moves? still, 4/5 game

@Theheartlessone Quote: "impossibly hard ones where you can't really do anything due to the opponent having a placement tones better than your own."
I guess you didn't notice that the enemy is always a mirror setup to your own. Its completely balanced every match even if it is randomized.

I would definately work on that A.I. I always found myself right next to their flag with them in position to kill me and they didn't

brilliant. Played for 5 min and already love it. Reminds me of the old days when the game play was more important than the graphics. Regardless of how quick it can be beat, it will have a lot of replay value. Loved how you keep adding pieces. Gets a bit difficult to remember what can move where...but that was part of the fun!

This game is very well done. Conceptually, it's a masterpiece, I think if you were able to find someone with better graphical designing capabilities, you can really make this game just bloody awesome.

The AI has patterns it falls back on, I've noticed. If you both diminish each others numbers enough, you can figure out these patterns and, even if it might put itself in danger, the computer will stick to these patterns. Extremely easy way to beat it is to just shift a few of your pieces back and forth and figure out what its pattern is for the match.

I think something needs to change about what happens when pieces that can only move forward reach the end of the board; maybe they get reset, or they can be swapped for another piece, but at least something so they're not useless. Please vote up so the developer can see this.

knowing the AI doesn't think more than 1 move ahead makes it too easy on the 'hard' esp with the more advanced units with queen/rook/bishop movements

Too easy; I played hard only and finished in half an hour. The AI does pretty idle moves and has no sense of piece value. It was only a matter of shuffling the weak pieces to the front and trading.

Great game-- just improve the AI by coming up with a value system that evaluates each system based on the number of pieces, and possibly the position. Ex getting a position in front of my flag should be key, so perhaps setting an increased tendency to move towards my flag, instead of backing up and playing randomly

This game shows a great deal of promise. There could be a ton of other pieces and rules accompanying each. That would be awesome. Also, free beer would make it more cool.

makes me want to get back into chess.my problem is i usually dont lokk at all the repercusions of situations. it is nicely complex, gets a 5/5, and i have an idea. what if in certain levels you could insert specific AI's, not in difficulty but in tactics? like on one level it could be an agressive one, another defencsive, strategic, ect. another thing, may i ask what programs or such go into game designing? i would really like to get into the field. anywho, solid game.

i agree with letting us design a match and also how about multiplayer? ive been able to walk right up and get the flag and theres been tons of enemies ready to attack. i would prefer real opponets instead of dumb AI

I would enjoy this game much more if there was actual strategy in piece placement, and not just filling up the necessary squares. It would certainly make the game much more fun to play.

Question: Is it normal for your AI to trade a piece with 8 move options for my mediocre 3 move option piece?
I have a rating of 1800 in real chess, and trading a queen for a pawn sounds dumb. Or is it just me...? ;P
Great game on the whole. AI improvements will massively increase the fun involved! :D

i haven't played chess in years..... and now i need to go out and buy a chess set. I love this game! 5/5. Great twist, like the others said, it's kinda like learning all over again, but in a good way
