"I have a whole base with 100 men!"
"Really?"
"Yep, 200 men waiting to kill ya!"
"Hm.." "
You better be scared of my 300 men!"
"What?"
"600 men gonna come out soon!!!"
Lol, memory of a goldfish... XD

Great game but can Vercing's 8th level not be so impossible, you cant predict where the artillery is gonna land and the neutral zone dosnt last long enough to recast in time for the next artillery barrage

to win, get a diecent force of long-range archers and send more, and soon your enemy will have no army to fight you with, which is when you need to send in troops to kill thier base (but don't stop sending archers, else they can rebuild thier army)

Good game. Awful history: Roman legionnaires were among the best soldiers of the ancient world and every soldier had javelins. The Romans didn't use heavy cavalry and berserkers were not Gallic warriors. Neither the Romans nor the Gauls used archers, and all Roman shields were large enough to block lots of arrows. "Vercing"'s full name was Vercingtorix. Spears were much more common among Gallic warriors than axes, and these troops generally wore little to no armor. It would've made more sense if the Roman support unit was a signaller with a horn rather than a standard-bearer. Flaming arrows were rarely, if ever used by the Romans and smoke-bombs had not yet been invented. It is not possible to ride a boar for any length of time, and warhammers and mace-and-chains were not invented until the Middle Ages. This game still gets 4/5, though. =)

OK, after persisting with this game and finding the mission enjoyable I completed Caesar and was on the 8th of the Barbarian guys and my save has been deleted. Afraid the 3/5 is now 1/5 as I can't endure redoing my work.

and secondly, the shamans and healers. While the soldiers are stopping to attack, the buffer keeps moving until he attacks a unit by meleeing it. The buffer units needs to stop when there are no units ahead of it and if a few units ahead of it get killed and the units behind it are farther away from it than the enemies, the buffer should walk backwards until it unites with the soldiers behind it.

and i don't have a problem with the lack of commands except for 2 things. In the staged levels where the objective is to do something other than destroying the base i get a lot of units and I kill some of the targets cuz the rest of the targets havent spawnd yet but they get slaughtered by the overpowered castle archers. then more targets come but I cant kill them with my men killed by the castle. Maybe you could use what they did in battle gear where theres a deploy button that sends the army out when you click on it but can be toggled in-game.

All you guys are saying how puny weapons can cause damage to the castle is unrealistic but gameplay-wise, I don't think the weapons can cause enough damage. It takes too long.

it WAS stolen from age of war but it's not necessarily steals anyways max games owns both of them so it doesn't matter. Of all games of this type i do not like this one in particular. A unit can't move it location only go forward witch is messed up but it is the same for call of arms... no wonder. And stubby weapons can destroy castles!?!? call of arms doesn't have that that makes call of arms a bit better... however siege weapons can't even hit the castle? Should of seen that one happen. Also to take note a boulder would crush somebody not push them back..... so many flaws :/ .

Throwing hundreds of units out even though I know they will die in an attempt to stall really makes me feel like an emperor.
