@tyrant unleasher the fall of the western roman empire was around 500 AD. The byzantine empire lasted much longer but the romans as we know them are pretty much dead after 500 AD.

So I just beat the game (Caesar) again and I just realized that I never upgraded my troops, not once! Proves that you don't need upgrades to win at all.

My trick : don't use any other troops, only fire archer, upgrade the range, fill every slot of your soldier with fire archer, upgrade your miner to mine more gold, so that you still can spam fire archers with so many golds

Man, Vercing wasn't kidding when he said he wasn't low on supplies, having not 50, not 500, BUT OVER 5500 MEN AT HIS DISPOSAL

Well, after maybe 3 or 4 playthroughs, I finally managed to keep Mr. Magic Guy Who Needs Lots of Money of Level 9 from being killed. :) It was close though, he doesn't have enough health to withstand the enemy base arrows for long.

Guys the boar campaign is worth it so much on so many levels! Go play it for a new kind of fun after you beat the other 2.

I don't know why, but this game is incredibly choppy, and my computer isn't bad. I can play far more demanding games than this, however this just doesn't want to run well.

Sieges seem to be the longest, the most exhausting, the most boring and the least making sence part of gameplay. There are no siege engines to speed that up and it takes ages for regular units to demolish castle. 1:1 unit exchange with defending archers would be quicker and more satisfying. Besides, it would eliminate need for artifical gameplay crutches like disabled castle repairs for AI and instakilling archers who reach the other side.

Why do archers always just die when they reach opposing fortress? I just noticed that archers with different ranges die at different distance, long-ranged ones dying earlier.
