Faster but riskier: Seems ally kills=no ether; Move closer to enemy, keep at least 2 on your screen at all times (stay away from gold suns). Upgrade Cannon 2x, then Smart Missile. You should get Smart Missile before enemy upgrades or right after. If you're good at controls, you can start killing golds. Upgrade Shield 1, Cannon 1, Triple Shot as you get enough ether. Kill outer golds: get close to one and try to keep gold between you and the other enemies (this way, Smart missiles hit gold and main weapon can kill other enemies). Stay close to gold until you kill it. Next upgrades: max Cannon, Engine 1, Secondary. Middle golds are trickiest so you can farm upgrades until confident or kill them by 1st getting close and try to stay close as long as you can. Focus fire until it dies. Clear other enemies afterwards (many will be trailing behind you).

I think my one complaint would be the lack of station health meter. Ok, it's taking heavy damage, that's great but 1. where and 2. how much can it take? Also, making it more clear that you can lose station parts would be helpful. I didn't realize that until I had lost 2 cannons.

@bloodbasher and of use to Terenes The best use of your early points is upgrading your allies. It's your allies that keep your base cannons and base alive, not you. With the first two Ally upgrades in place you can ignore them for a while, just make your third Ally upgrade before they do.

GUIDE: You definitely need triple shot and maxed cannon to win, and as for other upgrades, get them based on your needs. If you're dying too fast, buy shield shield. If you can't keep up with the oranges, get engines. as one comment said, try to stay in between the mother and the base if you are trying to collect ether. I got the badge with full cannon, full shields, triple shot, without ever having to upgrade the allies or the base, and less than full engine, but your needs may differ. Finally just remember that when the enemy upgrades, that means more things to shoot for ether. Hope this helps!!

@kenmendor512 I thought the same thing at first, but the problem was I was moving and so are the enemies (of course), making them move to fast to hit. Basically no kills = no ether = loss. Staying in one place between the space station and the mother ship made it much easier. Concentrate on upgrading your allies and your cannon first and the game really isn't that difficult, it just takes a while.

Wonderful game, but if you want to make it more realistic play with only music and no sound effects, because there is no sound in space.

so let me get this straight there is a evil sun and they are spaceships trying to destroy it when the sun is sending stuff to attack the space station and the sun is protected by deadly cores.

Quite an entertaining game, but once you've got a couple of shield and engine boosts, if you start attacking their base, your shield will stop anything they fire at you, and all their units will attack you and not your base. Once that happens, there will be enough things flying in front of you and dying that you should get a steady stream of green ether, which should be more than enough to get a few cannon upgrade and the triple fire upgrade, by which point you should be sufficiently lethal to them that its only a matter of time before you achieve victory, certainly well before you reach any kind of cap on the upgrades, and if you're lucky and put a few upgrades into allies, you should never even take enough damage on your base to get any warning.

insane. i cannot tell what is even going on more than 80 percent of the time. everything is so fast, its just hold the mouse down and hope you hit something. really tired of this style of high-blood-pressure, low-enjoyment game. if i could give it a zero-rating i would.

Kemper: The glowing balls are orbiting a big red ball that is going in a circle around your base. They actually move in a very predictable pattern.

tips on how to get farther:buy only ally and cannon upgrades. Shields regenerate and the basic engine gets you where you need to go

I'm usually decent at flash games. But this one is making me think that medium badge needs to be a hard badge. Especially since there aren't any save points.
I don't know what I can do different, other than flying around like a crazy person and shooting wildly. There's no point in trying to "aim" at glowing balls that fly in random patterns.

It's impossible. I don't like it that much. To me it felt more like a rage game, losing when I was doing really well.

I've never found it much of a challenge, but maybe that's just me... Definitely my favorite game on Kongregate. I wish there were more like it. 5/5.
