I played this game quite a few times when I was little and I never even came close to winning. Today, I came back once more and I knew I would beat it. I was patient and collected 120 ether thrice for the big upgrades, upgrading only a little between them. The game is still very exciting and fun and is so far the only one in this category I like.

When the message"Space Station is taking heavy damage" appears, it means one of your station's modules (either Allied Ship generator or a Turret) was destroyed.
**Also good tip: get yourself a cannon upgrade at the start to farm ether more easily, then upgrade 2-3 times Allied Ships so the station is more self-sustained. Then you can go on and purchase upgrades as you see fit (Smart Missiles is OP).

Not well balanced in my opinio.....it gives the feeling to get easier and easier as you upgrade and defeat the yellow orbs (strangely much more strong than the final red one). Overall a nice game. It would be nice the possibility to assign priorities to the allies to make it more strategical.

Holding down the fire button and then pressing alt tab will keep you firing forever, all you have to do now is move and aim.
Also, I have a question.
After spending 3 hours to get a highscore of 51 555, my score showed up everywhere but the next day, my score disappeared from all time and friends. It can only be seen in this week, wtf happened?

If this game had an "autofire" function, then I would keep trying for the BOTD. After all, there's no reason to ever NOT be firing, even for a second, while not paused. But my hand cannot hold down the mouse button nonstop for the entire length of combat time needed to get from start to win. For that reason, I'm never playing this again.

My biggest trouble is playing on laptop and not being able to aim the mouse while constantly moving with wasd/arrows... fun concept though.

I love this game!!! Finished on my first try. The strategy is to chase down those big yellow orbits one by one and upgrade ur weapons first. + this so everyone sees

I really like the concept, but I found myself just circling everything all the time. It became quite tedious, as the damage was really low on the yellow orbs even on full upgrade. Pretty easy game otherwise.

the concept seems nice but I would LOVE to just understand something (anything) in this game; I can't see what I'm doing, I have no clues about what the upgrades are about while the enemy knows everything and only has to focus on my ship (is that a ship)
BOTD is about killing the evil sun ... WHAT is that thing ?

If you can't figure this game out on your first couple of tries you are bad at video games. Upgrade yourself first, cannon and triple shot while staying close. This allows you to collect money. then upgrade your allies and take the fight out to the enemy. Your allies will get any stragglers while you kill the orbs. It's a pretty easy game, although not very satisfying as the shooting is basically dumb luck not skill

I can't stand this game. I've tried the two suggested strategies, of staying near the base and of upgrading allies, several times and keep getting overwhelmed. I hate that the pause is disabled if the ship is destroyed, since I inevitably respawn into a cloud of enemies that immediately destroy me again. Horrible choice for BOTD.

Well made game. It's a shame it's unplayable seeing as how you've scaled it to be beat in only one way. I'm not sifting through your mess to find a single working strategy, it's boring. I'm bored. If I buy shield upgrades, then I should be able to at least stay near the yellow orbs, but no. You designed it to not matter that I upgrade my shields, because I'm still fodder caught in a hurricane of bullets. That's frustrating, not fun. I tried cannon upgrades. Nope, same problem. It doesn't make sense to put anything into assisting ships, because eventually, they can't protect the base and I know they can't stand the onslaught I'm trying to fly through. It's pointless and I'm through with it. Art, music, mechanics, style and components in general all great quality. It has charisma and charm, despite my problems playing it.

Camp near the base destroying enemies until you have full cannon upgrades and triple shot (read: to hit anything) and a couple shields. As long as you boringly babysit the base to keep it from taking heavy damage, you'll be fine. You need some engine upgrades to kill the regenerating yellow spheres. The winning formula is to farm those enemies. Once you have most of the weapon upgrades, everything will go down fast.

A good word of advice, try to keep your allied units at least 2 upgrades ahead of the enemies. Do that, and you won't have to worry as much about their units. I beat the game with:
Ally Level: Max
Gun Level: 4
Shield Level: 3
Engine Level: 2
And I didn't unlock any of the bonus items that cost 120 each.

How I usually get my kills for ether and save my space station is that I go near the enemy base, keep note that it orbits your space station, and I aggro the enemies. I Strafe and shoot them down then upgrade if I have enough. Wash, rinse, repeat/ It makes the game easier and saves your space station from suffering too much

i really don't know how people enjoy this game. I am struggling to get the easy badge. 1. you don't get ether from the enemies the space station kills, so it is pointless trying to kill them when you get nothing from not getting the last hit. 2. the enemies are way too fast to even hit, if they were a lot/bit slower, perhaps i can actually hit them with better accuracy. 3. upgrades/health bars for the space station, because it's rather hard as it is, but no need if you could actually hit the enemies properly.
