I'm not a big fan of the fact that the last 2 levels are "bonus" levels, I was hoping part 15 would be some sort of epic encounter, otherwise a good game.

wow, what a beautiful, serene and colourful game. and i found it quite easy to play with a laptop trackpad, although it would be easier had my trackball not broken yesterday :D 5/5

The song was beautiful and I really enjoyed the peaceful feel of it, but I wish you'd had at least ONE other song instead of one that loops forever. I really enjoyed the beautiful graphics- though the spirits were a little "pacman"esque for my tastes, given the beauty of the pheonix and background elements. I do wish there'd been more of a challenge involved, perhaps new settings or something to alter the difficulty, or a minimum point percentage to advance so the user has motivation to keep playing. I'd really give this a 3.5 but I generously rounded it up to 4 for you.

the controls are a bit cumbersome when trying to use your the tail and the game play is a bit redundant. good graphics and music though. 3/5

Love the music, graphics, and whimsical aspects.
Not so much the game itself, sorry =/
A masterpiece, albeit not a very fun one.

No-one ever thinks about laptop users designing games. This game is probably the least touch-pad friendly ever, losing it a mark from 5-4, Then playing it on a friend's computer it was a little dull and more could have been done with the tail, so down to 2, finally the music is dire twinkly rubbish, concert lounge standard. What's that, 1/5? Yeah, and deserves it.

Tail handling is a bit too unnatural for my taste. The music was beautiful, too bad it's only one song that loops. The game itself worked very nicely. Only downside is that it gets unbelievably boring after a short while as there's no real challenge apart from trying to get a highscore. I'd classify it as an "ambient game" and give it a 4/5.

clean graphics. an innovative interface for controlling the phoenix, lots of room for personalization in playstyle with it, I like it. nice sound. It does however feel more like a 'toy' as opposed to a game; its fun to play with, but its lacking in any feeling of challenge, survival is trivial, and it gets boring quickly- I like the complexity of the scoring system, lots of room for a player to be rewarded for improved skill, but you gotta tie in the skill to concrete success in the game, having skill be solely for points makes it a bit disconnected. Very reminiscent of a ferry halim game over at orisinal.com, but his games ramp in challenge appropriately/have a short predetermined length.
overall very nice, keep it up :)

very original... great graphics and music... shooting the blue ones is fun, but i don't think the tail thing works so well. great game though

I enjoy the music and the graphics but a game is meant to be fun....this one isn't.
if you make one game where we as the phoenix shoot down mythic birds and dragons and knights and stuff then it would be 5/5

Yeah, I suppose you should get more points for using the tail, relative to using fireballs, cos the tail handling is what makes this game interesting, and the best way to score points as it stands it to just fireball everything.

The first thing that strikes you would be the music, it was relaxing and soothing type of music. The gameplay was simple and it was great with the three aspects of scoring or losing points. These games you usually have the anxiety factor but the music in my opinion help curb that.

Well, a pretty good attempt, but the fact that the phoenix doesn't have a health bar means you can just suicide dive any fireballs to save the tree and lose a few points. Additionally, you can shoot the red fireballs if you prefer, getting you the points easier AND allowing the white fireballs to continue on-screen to the tree for health. Basically, the game just becomes an attempt to get the highest score, still not bad.

A lot more easier to control than the previous Shen Long. I liked the previous visual direction more, but this doesn't mean the new one is bad, it's still amazing.

I've tried other tail-weapon games, and I think my mind (or human brains in general?) isn't wired for butt-mounted weaponry. But this game definitely makes me wish it were. Lovely.
