However, there is a pattern for the snake. It eats one half of the map, goes back with its mouth closed, eats the other half, then goes back with its mouth closed. Figured it out last minute.

You won't be able to dodge the snake boss at the end, once he's already coming. So the question you must ask yourself: Is there a pattern to his movements? There is, so pay attention!

I get the blank screen after loading, but I'm not turning off my antivirus software or modifying windows system files to play the game.

Well the thing with the snake was the absolute worst "Boss Fight" I've ever experienced, but the rest of it was pretty good.

the concept of using runes to teleport around the world is interesting, the need for running against a wall just to find secrets and the darklings or whatever they're called are just annoying, the 'boss' at the storage was a pain in the butt to defeat, so I rate the game 4/5

Even after 5 years, this game is one of my absolute favorites on Kongregate. Kajenx, if the Internet were able to send hugs, I would be sending you one right now! Great job on this game, and on the sequel!

4/5, love the game, but cannot enjoy it to the fullest. For some reason I'm getting motion sickenss from the camera control. Still, I wouldn't change a thing. Very... um, not minecraft... the other one... well anyway, it's very great, the smooth art is very enjoyable and the platforming is fun. As I said, it'd be a 5 if it just had... I dunno... some more uplifting music?... I dunno. it's just missing the thing that makes me go 'yep, I love this' ... ya know?...

4/5. Very nice game, the only thing I dislike is the monsters : they have no interest, they bring almost nothing in this game (except the non solid snake), cuz the challenge in that game is not the monsters but searching for the hidden places. But hey, monsters were removed in the sequel, and there are additional challenges too. In fact, this is a really relaxing game. 4/5 for this one, 5/5 for the sequel.

Why are people acting as if the snake boss moves randomly? He does the same thing every time. He attacks at the top, then passes harmlessly on the top then he attacks on the bottom, passes harmlessly on the bottom, then attacks on the top again. Same thing over and over.

It is because of this game that I care about the atmosphere of my game- That I want to spend unlimited time strolling to find non-essential items. I wish there was a tag for games based mostly on exploring like Looming, Small Worlds, and Vast

I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I won't say that it's a good game. It can barely even be recognized as having even a linear story. It's an adventure with only one quest and few dialogues, so it's not bound to be a great game. I'm not feeling generous, and I'm not feeling mean, so I'll give it a 2/5.

Here's the snakes pattern, say it out loud to yourself as you battle him: Open across the top, (stay away from the top half!) closed across the top, (safe), Open across the bottom, (stay away from the bottom half!), closed against the bottom (safe), repeat. Vote + so people can... yada-yada-yada, you know the drill. ^.^

This game has aged very well, with its meditative quality and it not falling into one of the common genres of games. I stuck around for the hard badge.

It's an interesting habit that we get in this game, running headfirst into walls to see if there's a hole there.
But hey, it works!
