You dig by selecting the shovel icon among the monster lairs and clicking rock you wish to dig, you can't dig rock blocked by other rocks and diggers can be killed by incoming enemies.

The little guys that your character send out do the digging, if they can't get to where you place the shovel marker they will never dig. Start digging close to your character.

Well...not a good job at combining multiple genres into a single game...If you could just really make it good, then it would be worthwhile, but for now its just 3 stars.

This is helpful for beating the game. Scroll down a bit to see some images and strategies used. http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/46976-dungeon-defender-hard-mode

Something about the music and style still grabs me years after the first time I played this game. Eerily haunting, maybe taking me back to early memories of D&D adventures. Good stuff. A sequel would be very welcome. Manticore/vamp/gym spam with tough as nails Death Knight blocker to win.

Its better if they freely cross instead of destroying each of building they have crossed.I have built so much then they destroy them so easy.*sigh*

This game pleases the mighty Ogrelord, but it has its minor flaws. The graphics of the game could be better. Still a shrektastic game.

+1 Goblin upgrade is great for stage 4. At the start, put a goblin beside one of the guarding goblins. When your goblins have populated, kill the enemy goblins and dig out the treasure while your hero sucks up centaur arrows. Getting the treasures makes stage 4 much easier.
Manticores are great, since they are essentially a very long ranged attacker, super magic resistant, and are buffed by the Gym, just like all your tanking creatures. They make later stages easier.

Just beat level 9, I used death knight, normally stay at the throne for emergency, use alchemy then unique skill (minotaur path), just use minotaur for melee first, then manticore for flying enemies, later use elemental and hydra

This isnt even funny your enemies just plow straight through your turrets and destroy them in one hit like theres nothing there because there are traps in the walkable pathway I constructed...

At the end of the game when it says the town has been "raised" it should actually be "razed". "Razed" meaning destroyed and "raised" meaning bringing something up i.e. raising your hand or children.

For those trying to put strategy into what you dig, the mobs priority order is DOWN, then UP, then RIGHT then LEFT. Thus you can clear out LARGE areas to place mobs without changing the path

This game has a bit of a weird difficulty "curve", starts off easy, gets hard, gets easy again. For the last two levels I looked away for a bit to help my brother with his maths and only thing that changed when I got back was I had more gold.

you dig by clicking the showel (on top of "lairs") and wait for little thingies to come out. They can be killed by enemies and sometimes they take a while to come out.
