intresting game with a wide variety of power ups. good animation. however, when stuff like mines blow up, the explosion doesnt choose who gets hurt, everything dies. the leetle mine bugs, should hurt other bugs not just you. also, when something dies b/c it kills itself, like the mine bugs, give me my money for it. just becuase i used skill and evasion to dodge them doesnt mean i didnt earn my cash. man, i hate stupid stuff like that. 3/5

I had the same thing happen as OriginalSup3rman. Got to the Miner Beetle level, and nothing is happening. the corpse has been sitting there for a minute and a half

Very very clever! If it has a disadvantage, it's how repetitive the game is, not because the levels are repetitive (they're not) but because you have to replay lots of the levels over and over and over and OVER again in order to get the money you need to buy the equipment you need to survive the higher levels. Still, great game, great graphics, cool design. 4/5.

some serious flaw i just found;
If you, while playing, drag one of your skills to another slot, you cannot use that skill anymore during that battle!
Great.
For the rest, yeah, cool idea, but i'm not tempted to play it over and over. 3/5

gerardbarta, I tested the energy pods a few times. Sometimes they don't give you the 5+ energy, sometimes they do. I think you have to equip them in the 1st slot for them to have an effect.

Great game. Can use some tweaks, like descriptions, arena visibility (offscreen bugs, weapons blocking view), such like that already mentioned in the comments.

Very well designed game. It's the little things like making the bettle's legs move in the same way an actual beetle's legs move count. Fun, high quality and great gameplay. Good work!

Everything was fine 'til the game mocked me for not bringing a reverse-fire attack to the boss. Allow me to misquote Yahtzee here:
EXCUSE ME for not possessing the space brain necessary to know that I'd need this functionality this one time and never again!

Huh, I never tried to get behind the spinner. Its buddies always abused me to death before I could get that far. On Survival III I just ended up using freeze and acid on it, killed it pretty fast.

It crashed for me on Survival III just as I killed the spinner <
Needs some upgrades to you, like defense and healing. There should be some warning before the flyers shoot. And the spinner shoots too fast; it's nearly impossible to get away if it hits you less than a third of the screen away.
And I'd also suggest a square arena, instead of a rectanble, with the ability boxes NOT part of the arena; they cover up too much area at times.
Very good game, just needs some fine-tuning.

OK, but your bug always seems weak... It needs more power or faster restoration, or no power at all(power AND delays is not a good combo). Also, make turning faster.
In fact, a full RPG with stat ups and buyable spells would be nice.

If the spinner wasn't the single most annoying enemy ever, this'd be 5/5. Seriously. Give some hints or something in-game, that thing has me swearing at my computer in Survival III.

All right, the game was decent. The flying bugs seemed a little over-powered and I didnt see any physical attacks like in more traditional beetle fighting, would have been kinda cool. 4/5

So many things about this game seem so poorly thought out. I just spent 90 seconds on one level waiting for an enemy to wander back onscreen.
Spend more time on compelling gameplay and less time on useless flair. The information on the Armory screen could be much clearer _and_ all on one page, no scrollbar needed.
Also, to echo another comment: this should use RPG advancement. What's a beetle gonna spend money on, eh?

I really enjoyed this game, which is an actual rarity for games on Kongregate. Could use a little more substance - as someone suggested, rpg style or something - to give it a little bit more than just being an arena pit fight.
But what there is is really well done, I see very few flaws (needing a skill I didn't have for the Miner Beetles was easily mitigated by the fact that I didn't have to move to win that level).
Some levels I had to do more than once before I won and opened the next level, but they weren't infuriatingly difficult like some games, who only make things push towards "impossible to win" in order to lengthen overall game play time .
Statistics and highscores are easy to implement, I'd love to see some badges for this.

Needs an option to save your current configuration of weapons that are mapped. I came back from playing earlier, and it reset back to the single weapon type. Other than that, the game is awesome so far.

and why explosion collision detection is big when the explosion is small its the explosion from bomb beetle is wrong its a bad collision detection for the explosion from bomb beetle

Oh, almost forgot, add in the API so that we can earn badges on this. This game definitely is worthy of continued play to earn the badges. :)
