I enjoyed this game at first but quit after a ruff boss which left me on low health starting a new floor, and in the first room there were 4 mini bosses who killed me. Realizing that the game didn't save because i didnt pick up any magics after getting chaos. I spawned on lvl 4 pissed and immediately quit. I would play this again if saving happened differently...

The game saves only if you pick up the magic after a boos, after the demon boss where you recieve a soul (for what purpouse ever), the game doesn't save

I was wondering why I was having such a hard time staying alive on the first level, and then I discovered that killing the "fiends" that appear when revisiting an area drop health and mana potions very frequently, compared to normal enemies which seem to NEVER drop any at all!
I seems like this game takes its roots in the NES, bad design and all...

I really liked this game, I died and rage quite, but still really enjoyed it. There where a few little bits I was confused about like how come the new Spells where automatically combining and I didnt have a choice once Id moved over a new one (or any cluse what Id end up with) but I think with a little bit of polish this will be an amazing game. Good job! =D

Good job on this game! I would have liked to have been able to mute the game's music while keeping the sfx on however. Nothing against the music, it just gets repetitive after while... And I enjoy being able to listen to my own music selections.

I can't see to get a hang of the one button system. I would prefer an option to use another key for shielding. It's hard to shield without wasting a stun attack.

The game is great, but having to start over after dying makes it a major frustration. Feels llike work, not entertainment.

Wow, I sure do feel glad I amassed 2 souls so I could start over with 10hp in a room full of enemies and lose both of the continues right away! ............

Please add _restart_ button. Your success depends on luck of item drop, when my initial weapon is poor I want to restart quickly.

Hey everyone! I died after 2 "game saved" messages, when I started over, I started at lvl 1 with nothing but my bare hands! Did I hit new game somewhere instead of, idk, "continue from last save"?

I also like the idea of respawning where the game last saved, if you really wanna do over the entire dungeon just click "new game"

So... If you die with a soul on level 8 you return on level 3?
What is up with that? Or does it only save if you take an element, cuz that would be kind of lame that it costs you some floors if you don't want a certain element.

Is there a way to increase critical strike chance without getting better gear? Because if not, then there's no point in investing points in critical, because 3% is just too unreliable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Was crit nerfed hard? I used to stack crit and it was fairly reliable for gibbing mobs. Now I got something like 55+65 crit but I barely get any crits??

Is this a bug? I killed all zombies first (accidentally) in a room and two of the zombies respawned as zombie bosses...

for getting the badges, here is what works best: allways clear every one of the 9 rooms before moving through the red door. Ignore the crit stat completely, never upgrade it and avoid the +crit chance items like the plague. instead upgrade attack about 75-80% of the time the rest in health.
go for armour boots rather than runspeed, the low amount of speed on the boots has a negligible effect.
magic: use defensive magic as much as possible (poison, frost, chaos, gems) do not bother standing still for the offensive ones if being shot at (fire lightning explosion). btw magic proc is your friend on gear, only lifesteal can compare.
make sure you enter new rooms with near full health, go back to old rooms to kill the scavengers/ghosts for potions until fully healed. when entering the red door also have magic near max.
btw due to high damage and magic proc chance I prefer hammers as weapon.

game is very fun but i would suggest the dev not cave in to those crying and end up making this game too easy and no longer fun. the fun when it first came out was a player has to make critical decisions on equipment because you only have 1 life and dieing means start over. if you're going to give 10 souls you might as well just make it that you get a save point every 5 lvls or something. 2nd, potionfind is redundant i think since you are free to roam back to other rooms and hunt for potions and with spirits guaranteeing a drop of potion this doesn't really make sense. maybe change it to treasurefind or another stat? overall still a very good game, just dont make it so a 5 yr old can finish it then it wouldnt be fun. there still needs to be some difficulty hence the die start over theory

Why on earth is the amount of crit damage per upgrade the same as basic attack? If it is already so hard to get a crit strike, with like 3%, and there is no damage bonus, why the hell is it even there??

I wish there was a way to find health after the first room of a new level. Since you cannot re visit the prior level. I keep dying on the second room, forced to continue after loosing a ton of health to the first.

got the hard badge on the third run through. Defense is key along with spamming the stun attack. Chaos or diamonds are best imo

Why does the game say it saves when u have to start from the beginning after death? A HP refill after each room would be nice...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think that the weapon in the starting chest should be related to your highest level completed. That would entice me to replay more than any achievement.

@Kyndryd: The game mechanic that saves don't protect you from deaths is not an infrequent one, and is particularly common among Rogue-type games. It's not well documented here, which is unfortunate, but it's deliberate.
