i have a problem... the edge of the screen (bottom and right edge) is showing the tutorial screen about an inch on those sides... if someone could help me with this it would be app-reciated since it sounds like a fun game

OMG, this looks so much like my VLSI design class that I don't even want to play the first level :D (even though I'm curious as to what all this has to do with communism)

although the transistors are "slightly" simplified, its an awesome game, just briliant really! i guess its always the games that behave like they would in the real world that are the most interesting,
to those who say its confusing, its as simple as it gets, but u just need to now something about transistors and circuits to get this game^^
10/5 if i could

there are diffrent types of engineering, just because you only know of one way doesnt mean it should recieve a low score, i still find it highly confusing in the gameplay though

Level 16, the simple-to-understand (I hope!) solution: There's a multiplexer in the top right, the horizontal metal each carries one data value, and the vertical silicon each change some of those data values into others at the bottom. I tried to arrange everything so it's easy to see. This contains 605 components so you'll have to heavily optimize it to get a decent score. Here it is:

I cleared out all my cookies and it started saving my progress. I would have just killed this specific cookie but couldn't find it. It still doesn't save my snippets. Is it supposed to?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Brian--I've had problems with the game saving my progress, too. In fact, I didn't even know the game was *supposed* to save progress until today.
I just keep all my designs saved in a text file, so I can quickly cut/paste previously completed levels if need be.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is this game supposed to save your progress or are my cookies screwed up? I know it doesn't save the individual circuits but I'm having to load each one and run it everytime I start the game. Is it only me?

@jonathanasdf If it's perfectly accurate with a single consistent delay, then yeah, I'd love to see it. A single glitch and I couldn't care less. I'm looking to use it for more complex things and if I have to re-time it it's junk.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Heh kygron sorry I didn't mean it as an insult, but just saying you can optimize it more.
If you want to see the design let me know :O

@jonathanasdf Then please use it to make a lvl12 and get your name on THAT highscore. If you want to compete with someone, do it on the high scores list and not as a personal insult please.

Slightly messy, as I "freestyled" it and did not clean it up, but the output is somewhat cleaner.

If you gave this game a 1/5 because you have no idea how to play it.... That is because you are too stupid! - That's right! You need to know caculus + programming + electric engineering these days just to play flash games.

Any EE guys wanna tell me why if I build a 2N2222 it acts as an xor gate? Because the lack of resistor makes ground just as attractive as the output?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Found a diagram for a NOR gate, I'm just adding a NOT onto the end, surely not very efficient but should do the job :P

I figured out how to make a quad input AND gate, but I can't get a working OR gate without essentially shorting my inputs, cry.

Although it does oversimplify things a little bit (an NPN transistor's output will indeed be a large positive when then input on the PN junction is positive (forward biasing the base to emitter junction), but the connection from the emitter to ground and the resistor used to generate some output is omitted), it's honestly surprisingly close to the real deal. Triple E majors, if you just imagine these are all common-emitter configurations with an invisible resistor leading to ground on the emitter of your transistors, this will make a lot more sense.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree with jcp_bill. I have an electrical engineering degree and had to throw out my notions of what a transistor can and can't do before I really understood this game. Now however, it is quite fun.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
On the contrary, this game is not accessible to those with electrical engineering knowledge, because apart from the fact that the physical design of the transistor is oversimplified, the logic of the circuit is wrong : you need CMOS logic in order to have the output signal follow the input signal correctly.
