Also, I call bull on how you fight the kraken. I went into the whirlpool, and immediatly hit the one-shot spiked wall, which has no business being there (for starters). I can get behind the fight, except even with maxed speed and armor, you're still a sitting duck for the bullet-hell style gems/green fireballs they spew at you

Hmm...an 148 kg necklace. Don't imagine seeing anyone, much less the rich fat hipocritic nobles that buy this stuff, wearing anything weighing 326 lb.

Weight system is bunk, and as for the random quests...there needs to be something to keep them from immediatly spawning a fortress and 5 enemies right next to the player, immediatly firing 20+ bullets at them. In addition, the difficulty jumps are a tad too harsh, such as certain random events that you have to face before doing anything, and the fact that any and all enemies immediately go after you, no matter what, follow you to the ends of the earth, and ignore each other completely, such as bullets PASSING THROUGH ships, and the fact that the Navy apparently only wants you dead, not the rest of the pirates.

For those that are having difficulties with the golden treasure chest mini-game, it is fairly simple: an adjacent tile is any of the 8 tiles surrounding that individual tile.

Way unbalanced, I keep running into ships that kill me in one cannonball not even a whole volley, and I haven't even upgraded anything. Also I can't "aim" because I can't see where my cannon balls are coming from, directional arrows would be nice. as is 2/5

this is one of the first games i've played that i've hated the boss. making a game about circling enemies to avoid damage well hurting them and then have the final boss have four minions in corners with spiky death walls around it is retarded. Plus you can't plausibly do damage to the boss without taking damage, it just becomes a challenge to see who can do more damage faster, it doesn't test your dodging skill, which is bad for a level that looks like it's straight out of a bullet hell.

To all those idiots arguing "Oh, haven't you thought that it might be a CRATE or a BARREL of them?", this is the century of the pirates. You didn't get a mass of jewelry or brooches anywhere. So to consistently find a crapton of jewelry and brooches is ridiculous - they were expensive, hard to make, and rare. It's not like today, where you can go to your local shop and see a whole selection of them. Outside of a treasury, there's no way there's this much. Maybe once or twice in a game, but not everyday multiple times. I'd have retired after 3 days and it'd have lasted me the rest of my life...assuming I could find a decent dealer that doesn't rip me off.

C'mon, man! I've got a screen the size of a table, but you can't scale the game past 600 pixels, or whatever? Seriously? Hasn't this problem been solved like 100 times?

My complaint is that when I collected all the eye pieces, I died instantly because of being sent into spikes. The area is really small and the spikes shouldn't kill instantly. I try to float by the small forcefield protect(e/o)rs but sometimes, there's not much room to turn with the square and I hit a spike and have to start over. I know you can't fix it but I just think it's too hard. Especially without being able to reverse.

@DialMforMONKEY: The weight IS actually realistic. Do you really think a merchant would only be shipping around one brooch at a time? No, they'd have an entire shipment of supplies. Therefore, consider each item a crate/barrel of said item.

Not to add to the rather impressive list of critiques for this serviceable-but-flawed game, but the treasure-hunting minigame is kind of messed up. It's not clear exactly HOW the "number of squares" is calculated at each site, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. Many times, I've calculated how many squares away from the dug-up site the chest could be (including diagonal movements), only for the golden chest to be even further away. There's something screwy with that system, and it ought to be fixed - if nothing else, the easy badge would be a bit simpler to find.

The Batavia was not a pirateer ship, it was a ship of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). It was built in Amsterdam in 1628, and armed with 24 cast-iron cannons and a number of bronze guns. Batavia was shipwrecked on her maiden voyage, and was made famous by the subsequent mutiny and massacre that took place among the survivors. But no pirate ship. Source: wikipedia, and I'm Dutch. Cute game further though.

â–º â–º â–º Zoolander: *"What is this?? A ship made for ants?!"* ((in reference to how my ship can only hold maybe 4 or 5 rings)) That's one tiny ship!! *"How can we expect our pirates to plunder, if they can't even fit inside the ship?"* Oh, if I expand the cargo area I can hold a whole 8 rings! Oh wow. :) *SMASHES SHIP ONTO THE GROUND* "I have a vision..."

How come the captain's always have the worst ships? The other ships are firing fire cannonballs while he just has a little ship lol.

@kkfenix You do realize that jewelry wasn't cookie-cutter assembly made in that time, yes? It was hard to make, and expensive, the odds of anyone finding a CRATE of jewelry are about slim to none. You certainly wouldn't find a crate of Brooches either, maybe a chest of random pieces of jewelry but that's an extreme stretch too. Barring kingdom treasuries, jewelry generally wasn't kept in massive piles, something about being too big a target. If you think about it, M's right and logic dictates you would NOT find a 100+ pound stash of jewelry. Seriously, that'd be over 100 pounds of gold and precious gems, you'd be able to retire.

Hardest easy badge ever. It's all luck. At this rate, I'm going to get the Upgrades badge before I get the Golden Treasure badge.
