There's a bug. Always prepare a pure attack and a pure magic weapon for each person. Equip full magic eqs when resting in Inn then change to full attack eqs when in dungeon. You'll got lots of MP to use while dealing high damage.

Duckie...there is about a 1/5 chance for an expert mode round to even be POSSIBLE and for that 1/5 to work you have to be making the best possible choice at the maximum possible click speed. In other words an auto-win program would win about 1/5 times, an incredibly skilled and practiced idiot-savant human with excellent reflexes a good mouse and a fast computer that doesn't miss any clicks on glitch cycles would be making about 1/10 wins. I'm at about 50 tries now with 0 wins while averaging 9 blocks a turn and playing turns at about 85% maximum possible speed.

Like the game :) Don't see anything wrong with zombie expert, played it 5 times in a row without losing (now I got a spiffy orange helmet :D)
One suggestion though: My healer is often unoccupied in battles (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HEALING WHILE EXPLORING, finally a dev that made this possible) so I end up skipping her (phoebe's) turn a lot. After skipping though, it often happens that it immediately is her move again, which is kinda pointless. Maybe instead of hastening the next move, some MP regain?

Well, evade and crit stats do in fact do something. Evade only works against regular physical attacks. As for crit, there are just a few special attacks that can crit: silence attack, tranq shot, burst, poison attack, cyclone, poison nova, unstable explosion, rocket launcher, and darkness attack. There might be one or two others I missed. Regular attacks never crit. As for speed I don't see it doing anything near as I can tell.

lol, I was just casually tooling around when I got to level 50. I got pounded soooo hard that first time. Those uber skills didn't seem so uber all of a sudden. Love this game....Moooore please.

Please fix the speed, evade and crit stats.
No matter how much i boost the speed of my characters, the battle order seem totally random, especially at the beggining (how many time did i almost lost because all the monster played first with their best attack?)
Evade... As far as i remember, i only evaded once. And crit, three time. Even tough i boosted Tristam's crit like hell...
Those stats are calculated with enemy level. If you are battling enemies that are higher level than you, you wont see much of a boost. EDIT: I guess not, only crit. Eva counters enemy's hit, and bosses have a lot of hit. Speed is randomized at the beginning of the battle. It shortens the time a character can take their turn.

need to be able to view all equipment in the upgrade menu so you don't have to go back to the main screen and re-equip over and over again while upgrading, not to mention being able to compare equipment better.

One major idea for improvement to keep in mind for future reference is more battle animation. If you look at the real reason Final Fantasy has gotten so big, it's because of it's detail in battle animation. I can't get over the fact that nobody moves when taking damage and It's pretty sad that everyone's attacks only switch to one other frame before returning to there dull statue stances. Take 'Linion RPG' for example. Lots of fluid movement makes fights also more exciting! Sometimes some anticipation also builds as players wait to see what the characters will do as they learn new skills! The success of 'Cabal Online' also has Fluid Exciting battle animaton to thank for keeping players on the edge of their seats in PVP and PVE.
I hope you take my Idea into consideration and I have more too look forward to in later games.

Badges please!! This game would also be a brilliant platform for pet/helpers in battle. raise your own exploding penguin? Have a pet troll with healing abilities? FIRE BREATHING KIRBY! (>^.^)>========3

Yea. Im finding matches fast, although I don't think myself as a pro, but you need to be lucky to get those combos. You can't think real fast and get a massive amount of combos. Theres too many zombies. I can't get to the King because I can't kill enough.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree that Zombie Defense on Expert needs to be rebalanced. Even if you play like a pro and don't miss a single beat, if you don't get those massive combos, you're dead.

Great Game Good Job! The only thing I didn't like about it, and I don't like it when ANY game does this, is that when you upgrade your weapon the IN-GAME graphic for it doesn't change. If the graphic can change in the "Equipment Slot" why not use the same graphic IN-GAME. Ty for the game.

I think the last floor is 50, where you fight the final boss again. If you go down the flight of stairs after that, you're teleported to town.

Here's another tip: If you go into a room and make the crossover while clicking the menu button, your game will freeze. Huzzah.

Ideas:
1) An achievements screen to find out how to unlock all of them.
2) A way to buy multiple items instead of clicking buy over and over again at the shop.
3) A way to upgrade items more than 1 level at a time at the armory.
4) Perhaps an option to stop animations to allow for faster play?
5) A sequel? :)

The characters' names are based off an old SNES game put out by Square Soft (( or Square Enix? )) called Final fantasy Mystic Quest. After about an hour of playing I began to remember the original side-character's names and went " Wait a second... " and BOOM Wikipedia'd it and they were the side characters.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@darkaros you forgot to mention the armor, weapons, and other random tidbits that poke fun at every turn based dungeon crawler to ever make a name for itself, i mean even the side quests are the awesome random ridiculousness we have grown to love and will come back to.

@yogidabear Congratulations, you've just realized the concept of an affectionate parody/ homage to older games. Was it the jokes on the boss's descriptions that tipped you off, or the silly storyline and blatant nods to classics?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I somewhat appreciated the visuals and audio, and I appreciated that you didn't try to make the characters and story deep and engaging for a game that doesn't require it. The gameplay itself is simple and repetitive, as the enemies aren't very challenging and you can burn though them with a mindless attack/heal strategy - and status effects are useless against bosses anyway, rendering them completely pointless. Without variety or challenge in the game, it just gets boring. Look to be more creative and add more options in battle next time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The boss on floor 50 went down fairly easy with level 24/25 characters, mainly because I had Phoebe be a Rogue and used Outbreak (it does multi-status effects which includes paralyze and sleep... so all the monsters in the dungeon, including the final boss, were like beating up on dummies). What doesn't make sense is that I was only getting 1 experience point for killing high-level monsters... I thought that challenging my characters would make them earn more experience.

The story is a lazy knockoff off of FF, The pet feeding system is a primitive version of Lufia 2, all hero names were copied and pasted from FF Mystic Quest, omnislash copied and pasted from FF7, 50% of the spells copied and pasted from WoW the list goes on and on. Low difficulty = low replay value, low replay value = random dungeon generator pointless.

This game is amazing, and one tip- if you want some extra loot, go back and forth to a room because chests respawn when you change rooms

I have to say this game really needs some Badges. If there is any game deserving Badges it's this one. Crystal Story is one of the best Flash RPG's I have played in a long while. (+) If you agree!
