Awesome characters, seriously. The whole 'apocalypse a la zombie-type stuff and sorcerers' thing done right as well: I really love how the story develops in the demo. I will buy the game the minute I get the opportunity as well: these devs deserve to have this game promoted. The tower defense aspect has also been well done: it's well-paced enough that you're motivated to play and not just bogged down with the need to grind all the time. The level toggle also gives you the opportunity to make things difficult for yourself if you so wish: definitely a nice touch. I like that the tutorial was incorporated with the storyline and just generally speaking it was elegantly done: I usually grind my teeth when I get saddled with a tutorial that's either too long or too uselessly complex, but this was just that nice, sweet-spot blend of length and quality. This is also a perfect length demo; not too short, not too long and just enough to get the player intrigued. Good job devs!

The Gold version includes a higher difficulty level for those users, such as myself, who already played through the game once. Add in extra quests, story and dialogue, Hermits looking for special skulls, a wider variety of weapons and whatever else they've put in past Act II, and it is well worth playing through a second time.

Despite my utter lack of desire to actually spend real money on games, I ended up buying this one. I don't really regret it, either. When it boils down to it, some games are just worth the money, and supporting the developers of these games gives you warm squishy feelings.

Now this is how you make a 3834ing flashgame. No gold, no energy, no special events that require gold. This is epic. This made me want to buy the full game 10x more than a stupid game with gold/energy criteria. You guys get my full praises 5/5.

Ya know, I played this demo game a long time ago and didn't think much of it, but after replaying just a few levels I don't know how I overlooked such a gem. Probably gonna preorder the new one :) Consider it a huge thumbs up from someone who NEVER spends money on games!
Well, that's certainly a compliment we're happy to take. We had to decide on a distribution model, and at the end of the day the long demo model just made more sense for us. But we're glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Love the game, new game+ was tons of fun, but I don't quite understand how the strange monument works which leaves me a bit frustrated. My main issue is the method of inputting codes, which makes no sense at all to me ._.

Once saw this game loved it, then it disappeared and i could never find it. Then today i saw the badge of the day on it and could not believe my eyes when i saw this awesome game.

Just came back and replayed this game for the 3rd time, what a fantastic flash game. This really sets the bar for indy developers in my opinion. There may be defense games that match this mechanically but none that even come close to its originality, storyline, or humor.

One of the best td games I've come across in a long time. Finally a td game where you can actually level up without playing the same level over dozens of times. I really enjoyed it, and I would recommend the demo for everyone to try. I for one look forward to getting the whole game! Why are you reading comments anyway? Play this awesome game!

with the full version, you guys would stand a decent shot of getting the monthly #1 prize. between the 1.5K prize, tips and having a bit of premium content in the game, i think you guys would earn at least as much, and without rubbing people the wrong way. people here don't really like the word "demo'.
all that being said, pretty decent TD all in all, if the full version ends up on kong sometime i'll be sure to leave something in the tip jar xD
I realize it's a demo, as in there's more content available, but the "demo" is actually longer than our last full game, CellCraft. In any case, it's great to hear all of the support from everyone, and hopefully we haven't rubbed too many people the wrong way. :)

This is the first game i have ever played without a single bad review or negative comment. It's unfortunate that we have to pay money for the game but it is SO WORTH IT! 5/5 by far best tower defence game i have played!

Bought this game awhile ago, and don't regret a thing. I would recommend it to any fan of the TD genre. Replaying levels with new and stronger characters is strangely satisfying. I named most of the defenders, other than the main ones, after friends and fictional characters, so their talent tree's ended up taking on their personalities. Fun stuff.

As a general rule, I cannot abide tower defence games. And I was never sure why either, since they have all the strategic elements that I look for in a game. This game changed that dramatically. That feeling of customisation that the RPG elements provide is exactly what tower defence games lack for me. It's odd going from hating a genre to checking out the price of the full version within a couple of hours. I hope to see more developers follow the example set here in the future.

Are there going to be any updates to the game to add new content? I love the concept, the story, and the characters. For people who have already beaten the main story I think you will agree that some updates would be awesome because after you beat the end there is only one endless mode and the options of redoing lvls on higher diffs. If you add some occasional updates you might even attract new buyers by a constant supply of new content. I'm just putting it out there.

Is it possible to purchase and download the game, rather than getting it mailed with the CD and all? I'm not to keen on paying extra for shipping and customs, but I'd gladly pay a bit more for a direct download of the game.
Actually, we don't mail the game at all. The order form used to ask for your address up front, but we were able to get our payment provider to stop doing that because it was confusing and unneeded. Now it only asks for address if it needs to verify a credit card. If you buy from our site, we'll email you download links. If you buy on Kongregate the game is unlocked and playable in the browser.
We'll agree it's less awesome than the full game (which is definitely awesome), but we tried to make the demo long enough to stand against many other Flash games out there on its own. It's no Gemcraft: Labyrinth in length, but it should provide an hour or two of gameplay if you're not speed-running. :)

What an impressive 'demo'! More than enough play time to give you a great love for the game, and get you addicted. So much that I broke down and made my first purchase of Kreds for the remainder of the game!
I just HAVE to know what is so special about my character that is wanted so bad!
Great game play! Can play different ways. Can go for all stars or see how high you can go.

This game was incredible! I loved the well-thought storyline and the originality of the characters. The demo itself is better than many TD full games and for that I rated it 5/5 and favorited. Also, it might be the only game that really made me think about buying the full version. Which (considering the miserly me) is pretty awesome.

I snagged this for 50 kreds a while back. However, I feel they should have released this as a "full game", then included the rest of the game as an expansion. I have a feeling that it'd have gotten a much more positive vibe had it been done that way. However, regardless of that, it's still a wonderful game.
The "Import" button currently only shows up in the full version. However, save games should automatically carry over from the regular demo to the extended demo and full version. Export/import should only be necessary as a backup safety method, or for sharing save files with your friends :)

This is a fantastic game. I bought the full version on Steam and the game is GREAT on the full version. I am currently on the New Game+, having got 3 gold stars on every level as well as all the modes in standard. This game is highly amusing for me, and both its story and the humor put in it make this a game highly worth playing. The full version is $15, but it is one of the best $15 I have ever spent. I commend you highly on making such an immersive game. I am a fan of TD games myself, which is why I enjoyed it. For any TD fan I feel this should be one of those must-play games. It's one of those games which, although at first glance looks like a standard TD game, once played, pulls you in to Azra's world and keeps you interested with the RPG style customization and humor, which I feel is lacking in a lot of games on Kongregate as well as Steam. Kudos to you, my friend, for making such an addictive game!

This is AMAZING. Combining all time favourites like an RPG, story driven, fantasy with tower defence, and there's so much customization! I love this game. And the characters. Great job. Definitely a fav!

The game remembers where I last left off, my weapons/armor and the levels/skills of all my army... But it can't remember my achievements? Every time I play it has to cycle through all of them..

VioA, this game is on steam for a LONG TIME, I have it in my account and I recommend BUYING THIS ON STEAM, NOT ON KONG, STEAM HAS WORKSHOP SUPPORT (improving the replay of the game very much), KONG DON'T.

Tip: If you hate grinding for gold and XP, go to the "Accessibility" options. You can choose to increase your XP and scrap rewards by up to 300%. In the same menu, you can reduce your "failed mission penalty" to zero. Your characters will earn scrap and XP ridiculously fast and you will be able to quickly earn those Advanced and Extreme rewards without any grinding. Upvote to keep the tip alive!
