This game looked and sounded awesome. What followed was an hour of fiddly crap that kinda made me quit in sheer frustration. A lot of potential....that needs a lot of fixing before it reaches the level of good it could be.

how to make money as a noob in 3 easy steps: step 1 get hide and i mean lots. step 2: craft 3 hide with 3 hide to get leather. step 3: combine leather with alkahest to get treated leather which sells for 200! enjoy (:

Damn, music started to mess up a little bit after crafting and switching the tab. A few crafts later button 'OK' stopped responding for the mouse clicks. Dear god they're got autosaves here, i thought i've just lost half of a hour of progress.

It's like a copy/paste of areas with different tilesets and then just an increase in all the numbers. Even the dialogue stops early on to just leave you feeling like the game is a job.

There's a considerable ramp-up in difficulty after the Iapetus Gate. Went from barely ever using potions to needing one every few minutes. The new watchers then have a great ability of stunlocking and the pet becomes completely useless... especially the 'caster' pets. While I continue the same quests over and over and over and over and over. And open gates over and over and over. And kill bosses over and over and over. And craft things that I want to keep without storage. Even though I have a carry limit. Then I made Golem sleeves to replace my Paladin sleeves. Even though the Paladin armor is supposed to be a "mage" set and paladin sleeves have strength and the golem sleeves have no other bonuses than 1 more defense. Seriously, some of the design choices just baffle me. I can't tell if it was ALL laziness or someone who just didn't want to be bothered playing the game to see if it was infuriating to play after a while.

Also, it would be really nice to have a different key for picking things up. Trying to kill something and stopping to pick something up mid swing doesn't make much sense and gets you hit. And why is there a giant box to name the pet but you're limited to 12 characters?

Also needs: STORAGE CHEST in town. (More necessary if there were some more crafting recipes to uncover. Seems everything in the crafting is pretty much spelled out for you in quests though so the storage chest would be more useful if the player had a little more freedom with the crafting system. In its current state it seems more like an alternative to kill quests and a way to upgrade gear. It's like all the components of a top notch action RPG are there but they were put together as separate components and tied together loosely by way of locked gates and Sigil's 'quests'.

I like this game. I dislike the eye guys. All of them. One of the top most irritating mobs in any game. I hate them. Why are there both a baby eye guy and a regular eye guy eggs but only baby Loomi eggs? Equal rights for Loomis! Why do I have a recipe book if I can't craft multiple items from it without adding components over and over again? I do not like the quest system. It's like a never-ending tutorial telling me when to craft certain things. That and quests are repeats of "Craft x", "Kill x mobs", and "Kill Boss x" Kill quests get annoying, repetitive, and boring real quick. The crafting quests were more hand-holder tutorial style than crafting quests. Not even any NPCs. Just a statue to pickup more kill quests from after you kill a boss. The quest system just strikes me as an afterthought to the whole game. Hope to see another though with improvements. GG.

If Castaway 3 is in the mix, I will say one thing.
The current balance and mix of options - like the crafting system - is great and all, but because of the sheer amount you have to cart around with you, pretty much the only viable stat build is 'almost everything in attack', making magic pretty close to useless.
If you want to encourage more variety - and allow for a magic focused character - I'd suggest adding an item storage facility, either at each 'Quest point' or at the home village. I'd also suggest bringing back the option to sell Monster Eggs from the first game.

Here's a nice walkthrough I found with a detailed map and a crafting guide, and you aren't necessarily spoiled as you need to click on "show spoiler" : https://jayisgames.com/review/castaway-2.php

need away to find all of the resources needed ie: sapphire , ruby, emerald and not so much iron and a way to store items , ---note would make game a little bit better --- hate having to hunt for the resourses as noted above and not being able to find them

really like the game but there was a bug, don't go into your inventory while your talking or else you will never say anything when you press space and instead just stay there hitting.
