An ok game, but it was just too much of nothing. Just like almost everyother RPG ive played, but this one was so much nothing, the game didnt use the time to tell you anything about the island or him or anything. I cant comment about later because i got bored by level 3. I found the music monotinous and irritating, this game seemed to be trying what all new games are trying: humour. The short descriptions of items with a small twist do work well with most games but this on it was just trying too hard. the combat seemed way too dull and the entire game has such a slow pace. A flash game has very little graphics to admire and this one has bad music, you havent filled the slow bits with anything interesting at all. Overall a generous 5/10 to be honest the only thing in this game that sat me up and think cool was the Likwidgames.com advertisment.

I hated the first one. Thought I'd hate this one too, but the newer style, while it doesn't look as nice, makes it worth playing

Quick tutorial: If you look in the upper right corner, theres a map. The gray area on the map is that part of the island. The green lines are entrances/exits to areas. Red dots are enemies. Yellow dots are resource-giving objects(Got to hit the object 5 times to get it).And white dots are items you can pick up. Press + so people can see this.

i was originally going to be a mage, but because of the need to hold items, i had to keep improving strength so im not really a mage anymore, i desperately need storage space!!!

The game is good. Not great.
It needs a better crafting interface. For example, if you want to create 10 health potions, insert the ingredients for one potion and have a quantity slot that you can tick up/down to make as many as you need/want.
It's also buggy...I've frozen up a dozen times in just over an hour. That's very frustrating, especially if you just spent 10 minutes killing critters on one screen to beat a quest and it freezes before you move off the field (for auto-save).
Other than those, it's a good game.

I like how I glitched the game out within the first 20 seconds of gameplay. I opened my map when I went to the next area, and it wouldn't let me hit space to continue text...

1. You should be able to pick up items before they appear. Too many times have I looked at the map and saw a bunch of white dots. This could be easily fixed by the items, not really appearing by sight, but you could pick it up right when the monster dies. 2. I think the experience percentage should be up with your name. I mean you shouldn't get rid of the bar at the bottom, just maybe when your mouse is over your name it should show another bar or percentage. P.S. Did anyone else walk around so much they were level 6 befor they met the statue? Sorry about all this...I can be a bit of a spammer.

When you mute all of the sounds, there is still music from the game playing in the back ground ever so quietly but still noticeable when listening to other music. Might want to look into that.

I read some comments, there are lots of great ideas for improvement, i hope that the developer will use them.
PS : Speed up the game! :)

Hands down one of the best games on Kongregate, (Right up there next to Mardek!) . I've just started playing, but I have been amazed and excited from the beginning. Pets can be very addicting to collect. Why was Pokemon such a big hit? Gotta catch 'em all! SO MANY ITEM SLOTS! Big improvement! I herd a couple complaints...but there will be none from me! Crafting? Fun! I haven't started crafting yet (noob!) So there is nothing I can say about that, but I still look forward to crafting! Again, BIG improvements from the last!

TIP: at the begginning of the game collect iron and wood (wood can be found by killing snakes) craft 3 iron ores with 3 iron ores to get the iron ingot. craft 3 wood with 3 wood to get timber. craft together the timber with the ingot to get the nail bat. THen get 3 more ingots and combine them with alkahest to get iron globe. craft together the globe and the nail bat to get the vindicator. go to the shop and buy the peace baton for 250G. progress in the game untill you find the angels tear (not sure where it is though) and combine it with the peace baton to make the paladins mace. combine the mace and the vindicator to make the morningstar!!! (the strongest weapons in the game) + to keep alive

i love how you get your first pet. it looks so helpless and weak, so you fend the baby beetles with your epic and awesomely power stick! and then the Loomi loves you, and teams up with you, and then you realize, this 'helpless' little critter has more health and hits harder then you. Castaway, making my day.

SAVE before crafting any item... There's around a 10-15% chance of it freezing when you do (you can't click the ok button on the item creation)

UI needs improvement. Needs hotkeys for inventory, skill pages, etc. Needs to be able to exit windows with Esc. Needs to make crafting less time consuming. Needs a way to remember things already crafted. Should be able to see what future skills do without getting all the pre-reqs first.
I'm under the impression that the game builders are pretty good, but get no feedback about the work they're doing until they release the finished version. Feedback is important at all points as you develop a game. If you have to explain why something is okay or intended, it means the game can't stand on its own in that regard, and you can improve it more.

Sometimes after fighting a snake, my character is stuck and won't move. Is there anyway to get back other than using a feather or autosave?

This second castaway has really been improved (no trees hiding everything, nice graphics...)
But to carry all the things that might be useful for unknown later quest, I spend all my skillpoints in strength and my character is therefore weak againt yellow eyes and their long stun. There is something to improve on this side of the game.
4/5 though

I love how if you manage to back enough monsters into a corner you can just own house on like... 50 monsters at once.

Why can't we see what the later skills do without having to spend the points to unlock them first? I'd love the ability to plan my character.

awesome, the updates helped alot with crafting glitches and also all crafted items made prior to receiving the quest fulfill the condition IE round shield/trusty knife. :D

So here's something pretty dumb: Turning music off only makes it quieter. It doesn't actually turn it all the way off.

Fantastic game you just need to adjust the lagg on the game and fix the bugs that are in it. It was really fun addicting kills a couple of hours easily, after a little gets boring and the lagg is just to much to handle anymore.

Hoping for Skill-builds for Castaway III. > And I would have really liked it if there were some hotkeys for the buttons on the lower right corner, and use z,x,c,v,b for the quick slot ( items )

Those of you having loading issues. Please try now and make sure it says v1.25 at the bottom. Also make sure you are using the LATEST Flash Player.

i like this game, but there's a glaring flaw with magic...why do most initial spells shoot the direction youre facing rather than hitting the selected enemy? its so frustrating to try to shoot a monster with a fireball and have him take the minutest step in one direction or another and you miss...it makes magic almost completely useless

Small Health Potion + Antidote = Alkahest
doesn't that mean that drinking one after the other should result in a horrifically painful death? (it says in the item description that Alkahest will dissolve anything...)

Although I like this game there are a few things that irk me.
1) If you've picked up any of the forge materials (such as Knight's Memento) it will not be there in a new save. Currently, to fix this you have to delete your internet internet cache since there is no delete save button.
2) Sometimes you'll get stuck and your character will not move (not the stun ability). To fix this cast any spell; if you haven't learnt any yet, you'll have to refresh the page.
3) Spell cooldowns continue across saves. If you die and reload your third level spells can still be unavailable and you'll have to wait.
4) The crafting system is somewhat haphazard. Finding recipes outside of quests is a chore (just save your time and Google them). Additionally a few materials (such as leather) are only used once.
5) Skill imbalances. Lightning is overpowered; white magic is worthless.

@Endless Dawn
You need to kill Peeping Tom to get there. In order to make him spawn, you have to get the quest. Only one statue gives the quest for Peeping Tom; it's the statue near the portal to the left of the Grasslands.
