Easy way to keep the first pet alive to game completion, keep it in the Pet Shelter, if you even wanna keep it. You can try to keep it alive if you use it... but that can be a problem when monsters turn invisible, target your pet and kill it when you can't even see the monster, much less attack it. I've lost many pets and have died numerous times from getting attacked by invisible , untargetable monsters.
I've also tried going to Castaway Beach to heal over time, instead of resting at the Traveller's Den, only to get hit by an invisible Venom Snake that poisons and kills me. Very annoying.
Not likely to be fixed, though. Liqwidgames clearly abandoned Castaway on Kong after they uploaded it.

How many friking beetles do i have to kill for 20 shells? It would make sense if every beetle drops a shell, because every beetle has one.

dude my guy went to attack something, cornered it so my pet couldnt help, then just stood there while it attacked him. i couldnt disengage and walk away, and i couldnt click the enemy to make him attack. more frustrating than a little online timekiller game should ever be.

Ok game with some glitches here and there which most people have mentioned already in there posts. One thing I was wondering is if you heal from standing around why doesn't your pet heal too. Also I only used my first pet but my pet seemed like he was weaker and weaker compared to everything else as the game went on. But overall a decent system that could be used for future games. keep up the good work.

Many times, I and my pet have been attacked by two enemies. I've killed mine, but I can't get over to help my pet because there's an item in the way. I can't pick it up, because my extremely limited inventory is full. In the time it takes to delete something, my pet has died. Now I have to start the whole section over, because I can only save in town. Or perhaps I need to start over at town because an invisible enemy has spawned and killed me or my pet. Again. And now, resting in the Traveler's Den won't heal my pet anymore. My pet doesn't heal over time, and I can't buy items to heal my pet in the store (both of which i should be able to do), this means that my pet isn't going to last too much longer. This game would be fantastic, if not for the countless rage-inducing flaws that it is riddled with. 1/5

A BUG: I seem to find myself fighting a invisible frost scorpion multiple times, without beeing able to defeat it! It's in the last "room", the one witht he generator in! At the ice lvls! :D

Hold up.... So you're telling me that when I kill one of these monsters, they just happen to be so freaked out that they drop an egg?

How about making all movement mouse driven? The movement is automatic if you click on an object or monster - why not just do the same when clicking on a location? Why bother with the keyboard?

A little healing math. The small potions cost 2/3 more than the healing herbs per HP healed. The large potions have the same unpleasant ratio. Therefore, BUY LOTS OF HEALING HERBS, YOU'LL SAVE MONEY!!!!!

no complaints on the game really. just wondering where the sand generator is? have been looking for several hours and tried every square on the 3rd screen of the beach. is there another screen after the first snake one? if so where is it?

Little positive glitch, if you aggravate more than one mob, and then keep changing targets, you can attack as fast as you can double click the buggers ;)
+1 if you found this useful

There is a big problem about this game........some quests say if you complete it you would get 100 exp......when you finish it you wouldnt get any exp after finishing the quest.... + if this happened to you and to let it fix it.

I would like to see a eye patch on the main character, it would look spiffy and explain why he can't hit a scorpion or a snake half his size 80% of the time....

This game is an enormous cluster of annoying design choices. Tiny inventory, overly weak pets, opaque scenery, inability to view inventory in the city, no autosave, terrible scaling on melee hit percentage, the poison/antidote junk is terrible; and worst of all is the combat system, where you have to navigate slow-loading menus in real time with the mouse, with no options for hotkeys.

does anyone actually use pets other than the starting one? i bred a few but doesnt seem worth it they are always horrible underleveled and die extremely quickly. i just stay with my first pet which is the same level as me, and if it dies i reload and start again from my last save. It's really stupid that your pet just dies and you can't revive it or anything (esspecially when ur using the 1st one, which can't be found again).

You should be able to skip the "typing" in the speech boxes so you can read it and then hit 'next' and read more. I'm going to spend half the game just waiting for the text to finish appearing!

(1/4) Reminds me of Azure Dreams a lot on PS1...Anyways, there are a lot of glitches that actually make this game more have a bit more depth and I got a ton of advice. *Tips* For instance if you attack an enemy, move away, then attack again, you will do damage faster then just standing there waiting for auto attack. The game tries to lock your guy in place to prevent this, but it almost never works. To attack even faster use speed boots. Another trick is the double skill attack. Any skill can be used on an enemy twice in a row. Click the enemy so its picture appears. While you are at least 2 spaces away from the enemy, use whatever skill you want to then your guy will start walking up to the enemy. When the animation begins for the skill, double click the enemy and the skill will go off twice. You can get combo that hits 8 times or even 2 backstabs that can do 1.2k damage! I love using Slash twice, Dart would be proud when ya DOUBLE SLASH! cont'd...

I think it's telling that even the Kongregate team itself quit on this game after five quests. This started off with a good idea, but because of repetitive mind-numbing gameplay and some serious design flaws, it is lacking extremely. It really isn't a good sign when Kongregate itself allows even the badge hunters to quit a game before they even reach the second stage.

Interesting note, egg hatching goes by your system clock. So if you put the egg in the hatchery, advance your system clock enough for the egg to hatch, you can get your new pet instantly.

One thing I noticed is I can't load from a save game from within the game... I have to refresh the page and start from the main menu to load. It would be helpful, especially if you lost a pet during a battle.

When pricing items keep in mind how much money the character can earn (at a reasonable rate). So far it's most effective to buy the lowest healing item in mass quantities rather than the best one because the price is so high. 250 gold for 150 HP?

Staying the night in the city is only healing me and not my pet as it states it should. I haven't tried with other pets so maybe it's just this snake I have that's bugged but after 4 tries it still doesn't heal my pet.
