Another strategy is to quickly discover exactly which tiles the enemies spawn and cover them up so they don't reappear again. (when applying this to aggressive enemies make sure you stay out of what would be their sight until the tile turns red on the map otherwise it may create an invisible barrier.)

What I love to do is strategically slay monsters so that what i end up with is a massive fort/labyrinth. This helps immensely when dealing with aggressive monsters(like snake and scorpions) and give a place where I can rest without worries (because enemies can't cross over the items on the ground, if that wasn't clear). Secondly, I love the game, but I agree with many people that the game needs more inventory space and pet resurrection.

It is a good game. However there are some big problems that need to be taken care of. First, as other players mentioned, the inventory slot is not enough. When you reach glacier ridge, you have no slot left for more things. Second, some monster can attack you even if they are stunned. Third, the biggest issue, the ridiculously low accuracy. Half of my attacks miss the monsters and I need to spend lots of time to miss the attack. Try to raise the accuracy a little. Also, there could be equipment for the pet. I toke a lot of effort just to make my pet stay alive.

Great game, but needs mouse controls for movement, as isometric vewipoints make games kinda annoying to control sometimes.

99% of my refreshes on this game are due to my pet dying, 1% are from me dying. Pets really need to have a higher defense stat since mine always ends up dying in a few hits.

Tip: you can use a special melee attack twice in a row if you click on the enemy you are attacking right after you have performed the first attack.

it began promissing..but really boring at the end..and many practical issues such as inventory,saves,stats display,pet actually useless. Of course Castaway II is a totally different thing!

Seems that you can double-attack with any physical skill. Select an enemy, then click the skill to trigger auto-attack, then click the enemy again to use the same skill again before the cooldown completes.

Why does the game description say "growing your powers and abilities through over 50 quests" when the high scores say there are only 41 quests?

If you target a non-aggressive enemy and use backstab when it isn't facing you the attack stuns and does a lot more damage (you can also click right after to use the skill again).

There's a cheat in egg hatching: Incubate the egg, then set your pc clock 8 hours in advance while your game is live in your monitor. Check your egg hatchery and then retrieve and name your pet.
After that, don't forget to set your pc clock to the right current time (you can google the correct time in your country with the keywords: "what time is it in *name of country* right now?")

I think I spotted a "Fable" reference. When you find the stick, your character comments on using it against the beetles. In Fable, you have a quest to kill beetles and your weapon is a stick.

This is a really cool game, but the time needed to hatch an egg goes up too high. For example, the ogre lord egg needs 300 minutes to hatch... That's five hours. Five. Hours. If i can get an ogre lord egg, then i'm 5 minutes from finishing the game. I just don't understand what did the developer think, who will sit on their thumbs for 5 hours when they are about to finish the game in minutes? *sigh* Yeah i will :D

Day 23. I have enough beetle eggs to create an army of pets; I have money to buy an army; I also have enough wild berries to feed both armies.I have slain enough beetles to cover the island with their bodies, and have enough fire shards to put all this bodies, the island and even the sea on fire. I trained enough to be one of the greatest warriors alive; but I still didn't find 20 beetle shells!!!

Pets are underpowered. No gear, slower leveling since they don't gain it from quests, and die very quickly. I kept having to save my first pet and would restart when I lost it. Why? Because it's cool looking and cute. Also, enemies need to be a tad weaker, for I always gotta get a level or two higher than the next area or I end up doomed. Also, what's with the slow health regeneration only for YOU and NOT your pet? + if you think pets need to be better.

I managed to make it to the generator, but got bullied by a bunch of snakes on my way back to the save point. Very frustrating.

The pets are kind of useless...they just die...and since the monsters make a beeline for them..it kind of feels like they just become cannon fodder =/

My creature died in a gap then a creature went on top of that and died and dropped an item and now I can't pick the item up and there is no other screen I can go to . . . fail

First Quest: "The Beggining". I just arrive and got a critical attack from Sand Bug and I ran away. My pet stayed and was killed. I also died while trying to avenge him. Frustrating.

i played castaway 2 before castaway 1 and i admit, this is very hard. my pet keeps on dying, and i prefer to do it solo. however, there is no option to leave my pet on the hatchery (and i don't want to kill them). 'stay' option in your pet and 'stealth' skill is very useful if you only aim to get the generator. i didn't know how awesome castaway 2 was before playing this game.

Used to play this back in my freshman year of high school and then forgot the name of it. Re-found it a few days ago and it's still as great as I remember. Man I love this game.

Imo, actually not much of a *game*, but still an enjoyable environment. The only playability is in trying to win fast.
