That moment when you're playing for hours in a small window and you accidentally click one of your bookmarks then quickly click your way back to the game only to realize you haven't saved since the very beginning...

A good way of training is to attack two monsters at once. By alternating attacking between the two monsters, you can actually attack faster.

That headsplitting noise when the game starts - oh my Lord. Pure, physical pain. What in heaven is that noise, and what kind of person would start a game with it? I really do wonder about the developers of this game.

Castaway has some frustrating features - an inventory which is too small for the game content, inventory slots filled with equipped items, insanely fragile pets, and poorly designed game controls. Also, despite the visual charm of the pets, their special skills are hard to distinguish, at least in the early game. Worst of all, keeping pets is a chore verging on a guilt trip. You can't leave the village without a pet, if you don't want one. Instead you have to take a weak unwanted pet with you, and then allow it to be killed, which will happen very quickly. But if you do want to take a pet, you have to labour for hours to keep it alive, which is all basically futile, because it's doomed to meet a nest of scorpions, and then perish. It's all a bit weird and twisted! Perhaps the developers have got something against animals or people who like them! But despite all that, I can't help liking this game and rating it 4/5, almost entirely because of the great graphics.

i really liked this game but there is one thing missing
if there is some kind of item that can revive pets it would be fantastic.

ohh i found it all i need to do is to go back to the village and take quests
note(to return to the village return to the same spot u started and go back)

pet died without being able to be revive back is making the game more interesting. there are few games like this now. Games nowadays have become easier and easier compared to the early games

I would like to make a suggestion that arrows be used to indicate that you can leave the screen you're in and go elsewhere. I had no idea that there were other parts of Castaway Beach, and arrows would have been quite helpful to let me know that I could move elsewhere, and that's where the sand snakes are located...

OK. I'm now very frustrated. HOW do you find the sand snakes, and HOW do you find and activate the sand generator?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

I've only just started this game yesterday, but I am really enjoying it. The only downfall for me is the movement by the arrow keys or the "WASD" keys. I'd really have an easier time if I could just use my mouse to click on a spot and have my character be able to walk there. The arrow keys are hard to get used to with the layout of the screen. I keep hitting the wrong key and move in a direction I don't want to go in. Please consider adding a "point and click" feature, and not just for attacking. Thanks. As for the pet dying before you can replenish his/her health, yeah, it's annoying, but that's why I make sure I've saved the game prior to attacking. If your health or your pet's health gets low, don't attack anything else, just return to camp and go to the Traveler's Den and "rest" for a "night" and then save your progress and return to attacking.

i agree with paperjack but an even bigger concern to me is how long that comment ahs been up without anything being done!!! sure castaway 2 comes out and all the problems are fixed in it...
i for one like this better than 2. for one ive found that adding a strength and stats thing helps but with new items and the quests telling you to make certain items ive found it prohibits me even more. two crafting bugs are there... ive found that when i try to make morningstar it drops it on the ground when i try to equip it. also NEEDS hotkeys!!!!!!! plus pets are a PAIN!

This game is in desperate need of a bigger inventory (14 slots is a joke, like other said), and shortcuts, I can't keep count of how many times my pet dies because it get a hit by surprise, and before I can get to open the inventory, select the fruit, and click on use, gets a second and killing hit. Quite annoying.

I hate how if your pet dies you cant revive it they should have at least made you pay for it because ive put so much effort into my pet then he just dies :(

like everyone says, either add more room, make a buyable backpack, or (the most sense) make equipped items exit your inventory.
