This reminds me of all the times I'm on the highway driving and I see all the red cars I can disintegrate by crashing into, and the purple ones I can't.

That was great! Couldn't help thinking of Rad Racer the whole time. Needs more tracks though. Maybe ask some people at Modarchive to make some or let you borrow some?

Extremely well done for a flash game and a lot of fun. Brakes are unnecessary and could have been replaced with a bumper upgrade that lessens the effect of impacts of other cars but all in all a fun time. Although the overhanging rocks on 8 were rather annoying as they made it difficult to see the narrow road enough to avoid purple cars that could easily push you into the wall. However even with a couple deaths like that I made the target time on the first try.

i did find a bug:
when you cross the finish line while being destroyed by the track boundary, you will respawn behind he finish line and can drive on until the track end. +1 to get this fixed :P

The brake upgrades are nearly useless, I never used the brakes. I would rather have had an upgrade in the sturdiness of the car.

Gave it a 5 bc im a sucker for that kind of art work, but it would be nice if you could buy new cars or color schemes for them.

i think for a second one, should there be one, it would be cool to be able to change the vehicle you drive. like if you drive the bike, you are faster and have better turbo, but you go flying when you hit a purple car, the truck isnt as fast, but barely moves when hit, and the car somewhere in the middle.

On level 8 you lose sight of the screen in the tunnells and 1 bump of a car sends you crashing.... not really avoidable either

Why is Level 6 the hardest part of the game. After I defeated level 6 I pwned the remaining two levels on my first attempt! Great game though, if not a bit short. And there should be something left to do after unlocking the supercar, maybe a challenge mode or something?

Why do people always complain when theres no badges i mean i love badges as much as the next guy but you should rate the game depending on how you like it wether or not theres badges rate + if you agree

Just a thought, but probably should add an Epilepsy warning to this game, as it could trigger episodes. Other than that, pretty good game, overall, even if the Supercar added nothing. :\

Vector graphics have never been so amazing before, in a Kongregate game! What is Neon Race? A psychedelic, vector, pseudo-3D,, arcade, racing game with incredible music, ok gameplay, upgrades. IT's not replayable though, and it is short. I should give a 4/5 but since this is a fresh arcade feeling here i Kongregate (take a look how fast the level graphics pass the screen, it's like playing a coin op game) i will give it a 5/5! Great job here!

4/5 because great game. My only complaint is sometimes directions will "stick" and hold to one direction, killing races. :(

Often a crash is completely unavoidable, such as in the last level, when you're in a tunnel and there are two cars side by side. There is simply not enough room to squeeze by and the slightest bump throws you off to the side where you crash and dis instantly. This mechanic is not fun, and is frusterating for the player.

Brakes seem a little pointless. Should replace them with a "bumper" upgrade which reduces knock back from the purple cars. Then make several levels of knock back. No bumper = Massive knock back, full bumper a bit less knock back then what it is now(not entirely gone). Great game none the less.

I think that the Supercar should have the ability to smash through both red AND purple cars to gain turbo, because I have read too many comments asking the difference between the regular car and the super. Being able to gain boost from both would be a great difference, and, maybe wanted by others, too.
