You pay the Educational Centre for the students!! They only give 'em out for money, so only the wealthiest and most successful schools will be able to have students. What would the other countries say if they see a Valtharian Academy with low standards??
Besides, you should see the "Apprentice" as a rogue student who swore revenge against the academies for kicking him out for his behaviour...

Its very easy to kill the Apprentice :). You just need a person that can hit from far range like a Sorceress or a Gunner. And bait the Apprentice to a lake then run to the other side so you can hit him without you getting hit. It will take a long time depending on your levels. Hope this helps :)

Student: "Wow, this looks great! I'm looking forward to studying with you!"
Principal: "Congratulations, young one! That's the right thing to say! You graduate!"
Student: "But... I just got here, and..."
Principal: "Just take your certificate and get out of here!"

The game didn't age that well, but it still works at least. The challenge is not so much using the intended mechanics as it is abusing the glitches more than they hurt you... The pathfinding was bad even in this game's time and my tip for players struggling with it would be to move across the screen to unlatch characters stuck on water. In general, mages shooting over bodies of water (especially sorceress and mirage caster - mag and dex classes respectively) are a very efficient, if cheap tactic. Errands are only worth doing if you aren't even close to succeeding in any hunts or none are available, because they give miserable amounts of LP (experience). Always have a magic unit on hand in case you run into the Apprentice (he's a single unit that randomly replaces a normal hunt and looks like the male beginner class). He's insanely powerful but can be abused by shooting him from across water for a few thousand LP, which can easily give upwards of 10 levels to your team members.

Other suggestion about the new Valhirian Arc: unite the best things of the first Valhirian Arc (music, tournaments, fame quotas, turn-based academy managament, etc.) and the second Valhirian Arc (academy building, academy animations, storyline e story quests, etc.) and improve them.
Thank you for your suggestion. The new VA is on Kickstarter now, it's called Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant. Please support us :D

This academy is hemorrhaging money. Literally the worst business model in existence.
You pay the students to enroll, pay to train them in weaponry and then simply give them away for free. All the while management is exponentially increasing the monthly returns requirements and threatening budget cuts when those requirements are not met.
Honestly, we need to get some government subsidization here, pronto. This academy is too big to fail.

I probably would have liked this game if the instructions were clearer and more detailed. Can't figure out what I'm doing other than just battling and graduating. If that's it, there's something lost on the strategy aspect.

I love the "Hold that Meteor" quest! Three minutes to world destruction, and you need to hold back the rock while the 'main hero' whines about someone he lost in some side quest. Since my guys are lvl 30 (sandbox), with maxed out weapons, couldn't they do the heros' job or something?

the thing that i hate about this game is the starting spawn place , can we atleast have a safer place to start rather than being surrounded all of sudden ?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
pretty bad tbh, punished for bad design by losing mana when the horrible ai gets stuck on every corner during battles

giving them an education apparently does not stop them from running into random things... they just keep running towards the rivers... im not that bad of a principal am i?

So at week four, month 1, I encountered The Apprentice.
(total damage from my troops: 75 DPS) Apprentice hp: about 36000
Me: this is going to take a while...

Not a terrible game. It has potential, the idea is somewhat new, but lots of little issues that make the game not very fun. The biggest issue is that it's pretty much completely menu driven. If I want to level up a character multiple times, I can't just click repeatedly, I have to click somewhere, then on another place and back and forth. The path scripting could use work, maybe even something more than "STRAIGHT FROM POINT A TO POINT B". made it kind of frustrating to get around obstacles. The graphics are pretty samey, could use some new character designs. Some better quest randomization (Having 3 of the same 'quest' kind of sucks). Quests that scale with your party level in some fashion would be nice. tl:dr; Game has a good idea, but needs a lot of polish to make it more fun.

I was at the 12th month nearly done, just had to graduate my last student which was level 30.. Then I accidently graduated a Lv 1 and the rest of the people were in the party, so I didn't reach the quota..

Interesting mix of action and management. However there are interface issues. You need a real tutorial. I couldn't figure out how to upgrade characters. "Organize Student" looks just like the title for that menu, not a clickable option. On a minor note, I'd also like to be able to hit the number 1-4 to assign spot rather than having to click it.

Principle - Alright you 4 are gonna be a 'dragon bait' today
students - WTF?! A REAL DRAGON??
Principle - Oh yeah, when you are done....bring back the cash....

I am the worst principle ever. I hold back the top students because I need them for the tournaments and helping train the fresh students. Then I kick them out when someone with better stats comes along. Then I make those suckers my slaves. Gotta get my moneys worth out of them, I DID pay 100 some bucks to get them to come to my school. Not to mention the greens I shelled out for the weapon exams... I like this game cause me and the king are greedy fools.

Took me around 1-2 hours to get all 6 classes to level 30 with exca weapons for them all. Really great game, my only dislike is that it isn't very expansive. 5/5 and needs a sequel.

For the New Valhirian Arc:
1) equipment
2)Skill points, that lets us decide what our student will improve.
3) There are so meny possibilities! Training in the school, or an RGP turn based kind for the quests? The students that don't get used could be trained in the school by the other professors for a price, maybe?
4) A market, where sell and buy stuff is possible. Also loot from missions of course. The weapons should not be the only thing you can modify!
5) Last suggestion, that maybe could be umpraticable: no level cap. you can keep training your students as much as you want, but of course, when doing so, you risk not being able to graduate enough students to cover costs and fame requirements, so it's up to you to decide. This one would require a lot of fine balancing, but would render the game a lot more interesting in my opinion!
we improved all from valthirian arc 1 & 2 in Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant. Please support us on Kickstarter to make it happen :D https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agatestudio/valthirian-arc-red-covenant

For those that are having trouble, try and get a dragoon (Str and MAG), extremely tanky and has an amazing blocking ability. I had just my maxed grade Dragoon with a Gold Spear soloing a 4-star 'hungry wolves' mission. Pretty neat. Magilancer is pretty cool as well, the ability being MP acts as HP if you have any at all. Basically 'Mana Shield'.

Why am I paying for students to enroll in one of the finest acadmies in the kingdom? Shouldn't the students be the ones paying for their own education, not the Principal?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I believe thee game can be more fun if we control every single character, to do so i encorage the developer to ad a key to auto-atack instead of all the non-user character being control by machine. Thumb up if you agree (more positive, more tentative to add will be.)

For those who wonder, why is the Hard Badge of this game not taking into account, you need to take 1 more "quest". So the page recognice you do the last badge. Almost send the mistake to Kong =P.
