This plays fantastically with a graphics tablet. Slicing though enemies with an actual pen stroke is just so much fun!

Since the Steel Samurai (medium) badge became the badge of the day for May 4, 2016, I remembered playing this game since April 16, 2011. (http://prnt.sc/b06fj5)

Got the badge years ago but back in 2008 this game was pretty awesome. It still has good game play, graphics, and is smooth nearly 8 years later...

One of the best games i have played in a while. The game was a little short and I just wish it was a bit more difficult. still 10/10

For the People that do not know how to encounter the different tasks in this game:
In case you didnt read it carefully, the bow is equipped by holding the SHIFT button.
The Catapult does not need to be attacked or defeated, just stay as close to the right border of the screen as possible it cant attack you there, you will have won the lvl when youve slain all the enemies.
The last boss can only be attacked mid-air, target his legs/feet so he will jump, then target him with your sword while hes jumping, hit him a few times and he will be dead.
+ this so people can read it :)

I'm not clear on how you defeat the catapult. I can't hit the actual thing, am I supposed to hit a ball back at it or something?

Not sure how folks are dieing to their own bow, haven't had an issue. When trying to kill shield bearers, I suggest slicing past them, then back again, catch em when their back is to you.
Really enjoying how smoothly the game flows, drawing the slashes and having him jump to follow, is a great mechanic. The art is perfect, evokes exactly the correct sense of time and place, coupled with the music, it's superb.
SHS has just jumped to the top of my favorites list.

yovonc Neah, I preferred to skip 66% of the second part battles by doing them in strategy mode. Much faster to get to the last reward tile.

To show the rest of the solider just how useless they were to me, I defeated every single group o enemies in the first half of the game, then in the strategy part only moved them in the first turn, so that I could move the Samurai to a place where there were actual enemies. I then took out their entire army and commander without their help. Just to show them just how utterly useless they were and how much cooler the samurai is then them.

Is there any way to get the 100 headshot badge if you came up short before beating the final boss? It doesn't make sense that you should have to restart.

The bow is bugged! If you draw the bow, you die a couple seconds later for no reason. This makes the guard tower level impossible to beat.

Can't find out where to go once the catapult level came. There's no other path, unless if there's a way to get rid of the catapult. (I tried hitting the boulder back, doesn't work) D:

I wish I could zoom out, scroll faster or walk faster.
Enemies come out from nowhere I can't stand too close to the edge, or some guy will shuffle over and hit me. I'll cut them, and another guy who instantly appears from the edge of the screen lands another hit on me.
It's still creative and fun so I'd say its good. But this is almost a fatal flaw.

Got it as soon as I turned the sound back on. It's essentially necessary to know whether your hits are landing or not. He only requires three hits, so he isn't quite as difficult as he may first appear if you're willing to turn off your own music in favor of the in-game sound. Not a design decision I agree with, but at least it's just for this one battle. 4/5.

This is good fun, and a nice way to kill some time. The last boss is a cheating bastard, however, able to fly offscreen where you cannot reach if he feels like it..

I said it once before, I'll say it again: I love it! I love the way we get to play Action Samurai, with a lot of the special effects you see in the popular Samurai genre movies, shows and anime!
Only question is: The "Strategy Game" we play with our forces.... is there an actual game, or board game, that is played similarly? I would love to play more games that operate like that, War Games/Tactics/Strategy-type stuff, and not just when I'm on the computer. :p
