You can only hurt the boss when he jumps, and he only jumps when you attack. So... you have to attack really, really fast. It's not a matter of waiting for the right moment in his pattern.

@beeble Yes, it's frustrating. I was able to kill the boss by just keep going on the offensive. Close the distance, and keep slashing at the boss, on the ground or in the air. Picking up all the treasure chests and maxing dodge helps, too.

I've tried the final fight about twenty times, now. My score has dropped to zero from dying so many times. I've managed to get exactly five hits in. This is completely ridiculous. First, you played bait-and-switch on me by making me play the "strategy" game when I thought I was in a hacky-slashy samurai game; now you've switched again to an impossible parody of the hacky-slashy samurai game.

My headshot count is stuck on 41 no matter what I do? Restarted the game and focused on headshots only, yet nothing changed...

Ended up bypassing it like they said you could -- not exactly satisfying that but I got the badge for today -- of course my headshot one is stuck, but..

Interesting game, reminds me of Okami. It's a bit on the short side, and the risk-based games drags it down. And due to the treasures, most will aim for the dodge, but there aren't nearly enough to bring your hit points to a decent rate if you do that. Also, the final boss is a case of fake difficulty, either not jumping or jumping off screen.

I seem to have died while in the final battle, and instead of a game over screen I've been frozen in place. I can ready attacks and pull out the bow, but neither of these do anything due to the character being dead, but I'm not getting a game over screen either.

The last boss is kind of broken for me, he either wont jump or will when he is on the other side of the screen. I want to beat it but I hate games that think challenge = crappy game mechanics. Probably going to move on instead.

When enemies are on the far left (past where you can scroll), and sometimes the far right (again, past where you can scroll), sometimes my attempt to sword slash clicks outside of the screen... and then I die while expecting my samurai to rush over and slash at people. I've seen other games on Kongregate detect when you click outside of the screen and pause the game... which isn't perfect, but would help, I think.

i can olny pass the tutorial, then it doesn't work. y can't start any battle, even move, i don't know where i am in the map. fix it please

Nice game, just wish you could zoom out more to see the whole level. To kill the boss: When he charges you, slash through him then. This will cause him to jump into the air, at which point you slash him there.

3 Mediums and an easy in 25 minutes, without using bow. Stop complaining everyone - it's an old game and is bound to have problems.

I played through enough of this game 18 months ago to get one of the medium badges but I had to restart my game because I'd forgotten how to use a bow. You can't replay the tutorial and the instructions only mention the sword. Thanks, guys.

I _love_ how the boss can move all around the screen yet you're given almost no area to see and you're constantly having to move around to even try to do it. Briliant idea by the way, making it so he can move anywhere you have to slash to hit anything and you're also having to move. Yep brilliance right there.
