i realy loved daymare town 3, but here you like have to go over every little thing with your mouse to find what you need. it's more about endurance and not freaking out. things are way too hidden. some stuff is not realy logical - so in the end i needed the walkthrough. still it's nicely made, nice story and setting, at some points scary.
but the improvements on the 3rd daymare make this series complete and great to play. it's not a game of luck anymore and you can do no 3 without walkthrough.

i have so many questions about this odd little world. love all these daymare games, have some trouble finding things and figuring out what is lines and what is not sometimes! (for example... the hook. thought it was just a line on the ground!) would play again and again though.

Great game! It took me a long time to finally beat it.
However, I don't like all the pixel hunting for birds. I went over the archive room again and again, looking for my cursor to turn into a hand, and it never did. Finally, I turned to a walkthrough for the answer. I'm positive I moused over that damn book multiple times, but I just missed that tiny speck. I think I found all but three or four of the birds without a walthrough, but it just got to be ridiculous.

I admit I had to use the walkthrough to find all the birds. Very good game, but definitely the most difficult one, in my opinion a bit overdone the way the sleeping birds are hidden.
4/5

this is a great game to play at like 2 in the morning with friends on a saturday night =p Only problem is that finding certain areas and really hard.

Some hints/spoilers......Screwdriver + cloth in stinky grate. Light it to get piece. Hook + string used twice so far--sewer and sink. Give the librarian by the sink a book (duh.) Look at the soldiers buttons for the switch arrangement. No idea what to do with the birds so far....

im not going to say more theres a perfeckt walkthrough that will make it a lot easier, so here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpHCczXROCg

To get the puzzle in the sewer:
when in the yard go down and press on that nice and big stone that u suposed to see....take the string the the right of the stone. then press the right side of the stone...there u find a key.
(thats not used to get the puzzle)
press the weel and then take the hook to the right of the weel remember to take the coin. conect the string and the hook and use the "hook on string" item to get the puzzle in the sewer ;P

I'm a gaming virgin with playing these type games and this one was HARD!!! Finally did walkthrough after taking WAY too long trying to complete myself. Great concept, hard to find "in plain sight" items. look forward to playing more like this, but more hints would have been helpful.

wow! what a great game! I love the difficulty and the classic point and click adventure game gameplay. The art style is beautiful as well!

sometimes in this game the things doesn't make any sense at all!
for example the puzzle? it doesn't give you any clue what to do. or if it does i couldn't find it.
or the plate. it could belong to any where like the pedestall in the armory or the plate near it. if he fix these problems then the games are good. oh i forgot. this game is more to be damn lucky than to be smart

I love the game's atmosphere. If you guys didn't know, Daymare 2 and Dymare 3 are out which lead you deeper into the Daymare Town world. Very exciting series and the twists are hilarious. Everyone should fav this if you are a point and click game fan and I extremely recommend the other Daymare games. Rate high if you agree and have played Daymare 2 and 3!

You can like a game without defending it. And you can like a game without claiming it has good gameplay mechanics. I enjoy this game because of the atmosphere and the style, as well as a good many other things, but it's not like I think it's easy or sensical. Basically my thought here is, please don't debate an entire, all-encompassing point-and-click theory/aspect on the comments of a singular game. This is not what the comments are for. ( This is mainly in reply to jonslaught, although I think it's an all around good idea. )

paper broke the rock because in rock paper scissors paper beets rock. that is why the rock is next to the scissors, to hint its a rock paper scissor theme.

being able to increase the resolution of the game in firefox would have been nice but the game stays the same size and the rest of the website zooms in =/

There is a huge difference between challenging difficult and annoyingly difficult. Having to comb over every pixel in the game falls under the annoying catagory.

o my double f***ing god.... this was so long and hard but i loved EVERY SECOND! it was the single best pnc game ever. definite 5/5 for graphic design, detail, scariness,(bearded by sink=not so bad)gameplay, puzzles, everything. even using firefox 12's walkthrough on the comments I still couldn't find all the birds, although they are easily seen in the walkthru. This was just plain awesome. i agree it reminds me of Myst, which I HATED WITH A PASSION but this game was absolutely amazing. once again 5/5

I really like this game because its not all colored so I don't lag but to make up for it there is a LOT of things that don't seem to make sense that make this game good. Like when going into the house, if you go right and see a window and click that, its Dark like the Moon is out, which your character says That's Impossible! Its Not even Afternoon! Still havent beaten the game too, which is fun.

Have to agree with "DarkLordKhaos" here. This game isn't "challenging" so much as it is one of the many (horrible) "how many pixels can you comb over" games. Who the heck found the "hook" without combing pixels?!

@ectoplasmic: I'm sorry, I must disagree. This is quite possibly the worst example of an already suspect genre. Puzzle games should have at least some grounding in logic, else they become nothing more than an exercise in obsessive clicking.

Well, I never did get the egg, but I finally got out of that hell-hole town! Firefox, you need to organize your "walkthrough" better. It's WAY too confusing to try and follow. I never could find the last three birds! Therefore, I never got the stupid egg and couldn't free that chained guy.

excellent mind boggling game,
really cant give its toughness a name
extremely hard so I gave up twice,
but I came back thrice
5/5

It's trivial to make games like these difficult without any rhyme or reason; in my book, style is a poor substitute for skill.

There isn't enough time to add the paper under the rock - great atmosphere but the puzzles need to be physically doable
