The trick to the wheel at the end is to find the patterns. In the innermost ring, there's an arrow that points up. The outermost took some fiddling, but just make sure that the top and bottom gems are lined up when there's a gem pointing at the top. Then once you've locked the outer ring into place, there's only one way the next one in can fit. You can't put the topaz in until the rings are locked.

did everything right until the end. for some reason i put the green stones but when i tried to put the blue ones it didn't work. went all over the game just to make sure i didn't miss any gems. finally, i held the wheel and turned it many times like crazy until I heard a "click", only then I could finally put the blue gems in.. Also, the "dragging the door" feat was kind of tricky for old players of submachine, since dragging wasn't an option in the other games..

The 4 topaz jewels won't go in until you've put everything else in and locked into place the green jewel wheel and empty topaz wheel.

Just a little hint. If you come to the big wheel without all topazes, plates or jades, you shall come down and click the sand near bottom edge of screen to go back. Took me a lot of time to figure this out(i almost ragequitted, as i thought it was a trap and you had to collect everything before going in). Wish that game would be closer to submachine rather than just a note in submachine 4, saying about 32 chambers.

@ChristianoJames you have to turn the jadite wheel first, then the topaz wheel, then the seasons wheel, THEN you can turn the face. (you need all topaz,jadite, and season plates to do so)Also, when you hear a "snap" the wheel is locked, so you can go to the next wheel.

Hey, I think I stopped the world from ending in 12/21/2012....or at least delayed it by a couple millennia. Anyone else who finished catch that? =D

Am I the only one noticed that the first level down "Where the giant head is", there's a jade wall type decoration, and if you click up it reveals to be the jade decoration in the forbidden part of the Mayan Temple? (If you watched history channel than that "decoration" isn't someone decending downward, but it looks as if it's a man in a rocket ship....)

To anyone who think the games should get badges: I believe the game is difficult to the point where most people would just have to use a walkthrough every other step in the game to finish it. That should not be how badges are awarded. Vote up if this changed your perspective on things.

i get it ... those 4 plates means the weathers , the 8 gems are the four cardinal direction the machine is kind of time machine and the head in the center is the people

The only two things I couldn't figure out on my own is the movable board under the mole glyph (next to the prison door) and the rotating stones next to the prison door (drag door up) correspond exactly to two large stones of the same shape, behind the prison door.

@Zorbak.
Actually, play Submachine 6: The Edge. The portals we see in most of the Subnet were created by humans, reverse engeneered from the original portals. At the end of Submachine 6, you get to see one of those original portals, and actually get to use it. The original portals did not even use the XYZ coordinates, it uses something called a connection pod.
