You aim in two dimensions, the ball moves in three dimensions, I wonder why that shot bounced from the ring next to the basket. I also would prefer it if the ball actually travelled to the crosshair. This would make the aiming more understandable.

just move the cross-hair halfway between the ball and basket, then move it to the top of the screen, hey presto- basket almost every time!
