Really great game. Interesting story, executed in an interesting way. I would've liked for it to be a little longer, and the controls were somewhat annoying at times, but still a 4/5.

I'm a big fan of choose your own adventures, and this was fun to play, but i wish their were more endings, or that you don't have to go through the sparse, but you can go through the dense one.
(As mentioned by others) - the controls leave a lot to be desired. If I work on something like this again, you should find the platforming experience much smoother and easier to complete :)

I just wish my computer didn't fail so hard at flash-based platformers so I could actually finish this game. Looks promising.

Is there any reason why jump couldn't be mapped to W, Up AND Spacebar at the same time? Likewise for the other movement controls.
Yes and no. Technically, yes it could. However, I was struggling a lot with getting it to work in Stencyl without causing other errors and people were wanting alternative controls ASAP as I only included one set of controls to start, so I needed to hurry. Any game I work on from this point will include controls like you'd mentioned, or at least the option to change you control scheme in-game - I'd underestimated how important they are to people :)

the game is easy, the controls are hard -.- the sometimes slow upon contact with walls killed me more often than any errors i made or any true difficulty. the somewhat fixed jump height is really annoying as it makes precise jump almost impossible. again with the sliding on the walls, if the jump is one that you can just barely manage, moving to the side will cause you to fail since you'll slow down and not go as high as you should. 1/5 from me. the story was good, but nothing else.

A cool idea is that William died but as a final act to save you when you wake in the field the are actually Fey and you find a boy who has lost his memory and you can ruin him and make him forget all or bring his memory back and save him and you discover that boy is you at the end when you hear him say I will not stay

Doesn't really have multiple endings...unless I missed something, were those symbols that show up in the later levels supposed to be collectable?
There are two endings, unless you count giving up and staying in the Fey Realm forever a third ending ;) It's not much though, more a 'good' and 'perfect' ending depending if you explore everything or not. The symbols weren't collectible, but I might work collectibles into the next one. Is that something you'd like to see? :)
Thank you very much :) I've jut started a new job and am moving city, but once I'm settled I shall be working on another of these as people seem to like them so much! :)
Well now, that is an idea! I will be exploring a larger array of characters and choices in the next one. I'll make sure there are some evil choices for you ;)

I don't like how if you jump and touch the side of the ledge, you stop and fall back down. I could understand that for a ceiling, but it makes the jumps really frustrating.
The jumping is very clunky - but, we live and learn - look out for super slick movement, collision and jumping in the next one! (Or maybe I'll cut the feature...hmmm... :P)
The jumping and collision can be quite glitchy for people, have you tried using a different configuration for your controls? It might help! :) Otherwise, sorry about that, but thanks for playing :)

Mimicwing,You still haven't Answered how to upload a game!I finished making one and I can't seem to upload the thing!
At the top of Stencyl you should see a "Publish" button, click that, then choose Export as SWF. Then head over to Kongregates extensive Developer's section and follow the guide on how to upload your game :) http://developers.kongregate.com/docs/resources/faq#how

Yeah there was, when i die in large hard levels i have to start all over, but i got the hang of it with time. Still would enjoy some checkpoints.
Also, i dont remember in which level this was, but i got inside a wall once and couldnt exit lol.
Ah right, well getting stuck in a wall is definitely bad, sorry about that! I hope it's not happening too much. I'll bear checkpoints in mind for the next one; I'll probably do some even larger levels, so sounds like it'll be necessary :) Thanks for the feedback!

yay~ William is still there! and now I rule a realm which I can visit everytime I cross the door, rigth? :3 I loves this good ending. The music and the story made me feel like if I was really there. Awesome 5/5 <3
Enjoy your new world! :)
Remember to feed William on regular basis: he likes to eat Ink, the letter "U" from words such as Colour and Armour, Oreos and tears. ^_^

Mimicwing,I saw the minute I played your game that You use Stencyl.Do you think you could show me some tricks for my game,I really like your game and I have Stencyl too.I want to make a Game as good as yours.P.S, I rated it 5/5! P.P.S, I'm having problems publishing One of my games.Think you could Show me how?
Hey, yes it's made it Stencyl - I think it's a great tool. I'm no expert however, I found the Getting Started crash course in the help section of Stencyl really useful myself - so I would definitely suggest doing that if you haven't yet. There's quite a few tutorials & forums out there also; take a look around and complete some of them, they might not be directly related to what you want to do, but they'll help you get to grips with the tools quicker. Good luck! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, was there anything about the levels you didn't like in particular? Or was it due to the sluggish collision & movement that people have already noted? All feedback is welcome :)

Beautiful game! Liked the story. The jump/slide on walls thing was a little awkward to get used to, even though it helped out sometimes... other than that, I just wish it were a little longer. Can't wait to see more!
Thank you, as a writer, that means a lot :) The slide-wall-thing was... Unintentional, though I think I shall see about implementing it as an actual (non-clunky/buggy) feature in the next version. It seems like people enjoy this kind of gameplay, so I'm planning a longer version with a new story when I find the time to work on it some more :)

I like developers that take the time to respond to most of the comments. Epic game, 5/5, but other than that just what all the other comments say.

A lot of people complain about going slow when you touch a wall, but you can actually use that to your advantage to fall at a slower pace and time your landings better on some of the later levels, so I didn't mind. I really like the entire premise of this game - a choose-your-own-adventure platformer? That's basically combining my two favorite genres. Love it, love the game, hope you make more!
I think, given the apparent popularity, when I find some time to get back to working on projects I'll look at doing a refined, longer and hopefully as engaging 'sequel' :) Thanks for taking the time to comment :)

The vertical speed in this game is the most frustrating I've ever had to deal with. If you run into a wall while falling, you go at a snails pace. I got so frustrated trying to beat the platforming portions of the level because jumping felt so bad.
It's a lovely game, but it just felt awful to play. Maybe that was just me =/
It will be the thing I spend the most time refnining if I make another game like this for sure. Thank you for taking the time to provide constructive feedback, sorry it felt overly clunky for you!

This game is great. the only thing I dont like is how when you touch a wall, you go very slow. The game is great though, so 5/5.

This game is beautiful and so relaxing! The music and art is gorgeous - this is a brilliant game!
My only qualm would be that after giving the flower to the dryad, nothing happened :P
(unless there is a bug... Which is a distinct possibility, I will admit) then giving the flower to the dryad has an effect toward the end :) I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time to comment :)
