The tutorial explains nothing. The controls are... well, when you even TRY to jump you die! The enemies are impossible to beat, power-ups are worthless, and avoiding spikes is a joke. I give this game 5/5

Guys, I've played many good games, but this stands out because of: the name. For those who haven't realised, there won't be a depict2: the 1 has another meaning. Here's a further hint: depictone. Here's an even further hint: anagrams are used in the last level.

As an actual arcade game, this was nothing special. However, I liked it for the mood and sense of psycho-drama. The "story" kept me interested enough to play through. This is reminiscent of an era when graphics and sound were not as important as story and mood. Nice job on this period piece.

HOW TO GET THE TWO ENDINGS: 1st ending: just walk into the beam at the "last" level. 2ne ending: walk up to the beam but DO NOT enter it, wait for a few seconds and the beam will dissipate, allowing you to walk past it. You can defeat the final boss by jumping over the "gems" and firing a spike in mid-air when you above them, you will be frozen in mid-air but you clone won't be and will fall to his death. (just make sure you evade them after you un-freeze). WELL DONE: YOU ARE NOW FREE!

Yeah "SpecialD"- I had the same problem with the 'J' -Jump key too! Most frustrating!! It acted like "I'll jump U when I feel like it..!" Finishing the ending took longer than playing the game levels. I was able to finish off the Lyin'Man without darting him. Lost my last one. Itchy finger. When I jumped back over to the stairsteps side & went down the steps- he tried to jump back to his side but went down the drain! Adios Lyin'Man!! Despite the J-key overall I give this game 4 3/4 stars. Quite different way of thinking things through. Definitely needs a sequel. Don't cha think or Don't Ya? >^_^<

The game is called "depict1" because of the use of anagrams, along with the way the end of the game rearranges the letters of "deception" into "poetic end" the letters can also be rearranged into the full name "depict one"

i have discovered a glitch: in the level "walljump", i used the spikes to climb even higher after i did the walljumps. This way i got out of the screen, on top of the blocks. I walked to the left and then i got stuck.

Also, really now, if you cant figure out the giant hints that the person is lying to you and you just want to go into rage and say "CONTROLS DONT WORK 1/5" your most likely an idiot,

At the end, when the screen is cracking, at the top of it, "DEPICTION" flashes into several different jumbled words. POETICEND is one of them. *cough* However, this game was very well made, even though I normally hate platformers. It wasn't too hard, it made you think at times, and it reminded me of Portal, which gives this an instant 4/5 at the least. Many, if not all of the puzzles were cleverly made. In general, 5/5.

After you beat the "boss" a whole bunch of anagrams appear where the level name is and the last one that appears just before the screen shaters is "poeticend" or Poetic end.

It was fun to play this game again nearly after a decade after I've first played it. Thank you once again for making this game.

I understand it all. Shadow you is the you with common sense. common sense says "don't touch the spikes" "gems are good" "we should kill the creature" boots are good". but when you realize your common sense won't do you any good, you begin to understand how to win. that's when it leaves you. after it leaves. the levels seem to make sense. but when it comes back, the levels go crazy. because YOU'VE gone sane again. you can't see the real floor. eventually, and this is the depressing part for me, you have to go insane to free yourself.

to get good ending you have to make sure you got spare dart then jump while moving forward and shoot the liar and he should fell into the spikes without you and then you wait for cutscene to end and go to right into the light.

i think that the shadow clone of yourself was trying to kill you all along so that he could be free. think about it. when you kill him, you become free. so maybe he was giving you the wrong controls and trying to make you touch the gems so you would die/not have a chance to kill him? idk

lol if you get the "trapped forever" ending you're able to back to get the other ending but if you get the "free" ending you stay on the ending screen the rest of the time you play. oh the irony...
