for a reminder trulyfictional wrote:I understand it all. Shadow you is the you with common sense. common sense says "don't touch the spikes" "gems are good" "we should kill the creature" boots are good". but when you realize your common sense won't do you any good, you begin to understand how to win. that's when it leaves you. after it leaves. the levels seem to make sense. but when it comes back, the levels go crazy. because YOU'VE gone sane again. you can't see the real floor. eventually, and this is the depressing part for me, you have to go insane to free yourself.

Nice game. I like how you made the game interesting using the very few and simple game dynamics you had. Good level design, good encouragement to think outside the box. I stared at my mirror self for like 5 minutes before understanding what I had to do.

its very easy to tell what jump button is; he tells you to press space, ut if you read it carfully, you'll see that jumphas a a capital J.

1 - to go to the second ending, stay in the front of the light.Wait some seconds and it will turn off.Go forwards because there is a invisible place behind the light.

I've played this game before, but I never noticed how on the second ending when the name of the level is changing, at the very end it says, "POETICEND" And I think that that's really cool.

Regarding the badge: I don't know if the description is a mistake, if the game just isn't registering completion properly, or if it's an intentional lie in keeping with the theme of the game. Regardless, here are the steps that got me the badge: After you get the "1st" ending (screen says 1/2) continue playing until you get the "2nd" ending (if you don't know how, find help, there isn't room to explain). When you're at the screen showing ending 2/2 I'd take a screenshot just in case something went wrong on your end. Then click Back To Title. If you don't get the badge, refresh. Once the game loads, check the high scores to make sure the game has registered that you have the Bad Ending. When you check Good Ending it won't be there for some reason. Click to CONTINUE the game. You'll be brought to the final screen, go through once more. Repeat process as before and then refresh again. The badge *should* award now, but it took me going through the cycle a 3rd time to finally get it.

Probably-Not-True-But-Let-Me-Dream Game Theory Of The Day: This game is about how anxiety and paranoia will box you in by causing you to overthink and see things in the wrong light, effectively lying to you about the situation at hand and getting you into more trouble as a result. You have to learn to cope with it and move past it, taking your own strengths into account and taking a deeper look at what's going on around you.

The guy is like you in the mirror. Perhaps he wasn't lying, but that was like true for him. Spikes may damage him, the gems are collectible... It's you backwards, so why not?

I have to admit, I really liked this game. At first I was confused and didn't understand why the arrow keys wouldn't work. But once it sunk in that he was lying to me... it became a bit easier.

When the glass shatters in the Good End, in between every shatter you see different Anagrams for Depict One. The last one is "Poetic End". So I'd say posting them as your own might be a deception.

Yaknow, if the last part of the game had you not go up but go down and bring you into hypothetical depict2, that would be interesting.

ending 1/2 (trapped forever).........just go through the portal.
ending 2/2 (free)............at the final stage , just go down and stay for 20 second or so and you'll notice the light will run out and just pass through the wall youll have only 2 bullets pinpoint the first one one the yellow block then at the position when your shadow comes out JUMP then throw your bullet while still holding your arrow keys and that,ll interrupt the symmetry of your shadow

When i first played this game i thought my arrow keys were spoilt "ZOMG MY COMPUTER IS SPOILT ARGH"
Then, yea. Man. I took the longest time on the "K" level, i refused to take the obvious hint LOL

If you're really stuck on your shadowy mirror image, I'll give you a tip:
*SPOILER*
Remember that you just picked up 2 spikes? If you use just 1 to climb the wall you can use the other one to 'break the cyle' in your fight against your shadowy self!

at the end, while fight with the clone. it isn't necessary to be over the pit to kill him. when you shoot the spike, because you freeze and he doesn't, it unsynchronize you from you clone and you should find the right way to walk to make him fall in the pit.
