Save got erased two times so I beat the game in one sitting after that with the dog. No skill at all. The fights were incredibly reliant on RNG and it usually felt like I got unlucky too many times in a row. (Those damn 4x combos coming out of literally nowhere as 3 purple blocks fall down already aligned is one example) Besides that and the save issue it's a solid game.

The only reason I beat the octopus is that after many tries I had a briliant 6-move combo with 4 and 5-tile strings popping up everywhere.

An annoying timer for no real reason, luck-based battles, grind to do upgrades. Not a fun game for me. Used right-click on the game to 'pause' it so I could actually -look- at gems and possible combos, which the AI can do instantly.

This game is to luck based. I'm grinding the first enemy for gems so I can get the upgrades before moving on because I'm no longer trying to get the attack combos but just survive long enough for them to kill themselves with counters.

@ Lyokira , yeah, _IF_ you get Defense AND Counter. If you only get 1 of those 2, it's not really all that great. Why? Because you as the player have less than half his life bar. Your counter attack would have to be OVER 200% to make it worth doing just Counter. And the boss has infinite energy, so Defense by itself isn't great. (you can't energy drain him) So doing either of those alone, is not worth it. If you have high defense AND counter? Then yes. That's how I won the first time. But that's the exception. As a 99% rule, always get the purples/greys, and never let the enemy get them. @ Bob_stew So true. This game is pretty neat. I like it. You can wrangle the randomness like you said. Good observation. @ Localmusicians , no, the enemy cannot change gems on the screen to something that wasn't already there. You just missed seeing the gems.

First time against the final boss i knocked him out haha the trick is always go for 4 combo first so u get an extra turn on top of chains and then go after defense tiles, then go after counter tiles in that order that way your protected against all attacks and u have a chance to chain others like rage, health, energy.

The fact that you and your opponent both use the same board can be annoying, because you can't set things up for yourself. But at least if all the moves are bad moves you can skip your turn and force your foe to take the bad move instead.

Pretty amusing. I guess my heart was with the cards-erm I mean gems- with the last boss as it gave me such massive luck combos that the boss killed itself with all the def and reflect I had lol

Tips and Tricks
Get full health as soon as possible then max counter attack. Having full counter means you hit more than what they hit on you so you can just sit back and enjoy the show. Have fun.
You want to win? Thumb this...

364% counter on an 18x combo. Defence at 50%. Shark attacked for 30 and I hit back for 218. Scored just over 3000 for the match. Felt good.

The trick with the last boss is counter. Max counter is over a hundred on three in a rows, and the boss does more damage than you. If you ignore attack and go for defence and counter, the boss will rip itself to shreds.

At first, i was thinking, not another bejewel game. But after playing 5 mins. I am thinking. Wow. This is a great game. 5/5

There I was slaying a fish with my cat. Feeling like a Egyptian godlike cat.
Then the octopus raged rainbowed and smacked my cat over 9000 pixels away with 2 rage + 4 energy attacks.

Dear Developers.
This Combination of gem action and round based fighting is so awesome.
You should try to build a multiplayer mode, extended upgrade options, a mobile app and many many more opponents. Then I will definetly pay for it!
Greetings
A big Fan

It's a fun game, but there's too much luck involved to make the final boss that hard. There is definitely some strategy, but it's mostly luck. I spent an hour and didn't beat the last boss. Now this game is just frustrating and I don't want to play it anymore. :-/ 4/5

its funny how nice looking game is RUINED by making luck factor way too high. And i hate it when octopuss is getting lucky agains me ALL THE TIME. I Had full health with 130% retaliation and then the other octopuss came... Its turn and he got like 4 new turns and killed me instantly :( that was the 10th time i tried to beat that guy, no more!!

I wish we could have further upgrades. Health only goes to 500 but we have to fight opponents who have way more health.

Enemy keeps getting huge 8 combos with the bomb then nothing left for me except energy then he does again pisses me off

I am officially pissed off now. Everytime I verse the boss and get a row of something, guess what pops out......... either a bloody spec. attack, fist (grey) or rage to pown me.

It's actually pretty easy if you plan your moves out instead of just matching the first thing you see. Protip: Pay attention to what possible moves you're giving the opponent. The AI will always prioritize attacks over everything else, and this is easy to exploit. You can set up 4/5 of a kinds and combos of other gems that they'll ignore, and you can bait them into attacking you while you have defense+counter up. Just focus on controlling the board.

you know a game a good when you can't beat the boss with maxed gear. Also when the boss animation gets in the way of the board. Think the dev isn't this impotent, he is just a troll.
