How to beat the last boss: Set up 100% defense and 144% counter. Hope he combos himself to death. It worked eventually.
This is a great little Puzzle Fighter clone, but a few points: Firstly, Heal is WAY too weak. It's basically worthless after the first few levels, it just doesn't do enough to matter. Secondly, every combo should give some benefit. If you get two attacks in the same combo, you do twice the damage, but two defense or counters does nothing. They should stack with each other. Similarly, defense should be able to go above 100%, with any additional defense healing you. That said, with those changes to defense/counter, the base values should probably be lowered quite a bit to retain balance.

Am I the only one who thinks the characters from this game seriously look like they belong in a nickelodian series? The music, the animation, all of it, it's just too catchy, I really wish I could see them in some sort've animated series.

Final boss is pretty tough no matter what anyone says. 50% of how quickly you beat him is luck. Of course there is strategy.Obviously you want everything max upgraded. Defense and counter are gunna be your main moves here. But, really the only way to beat him before he kills you is to get huge combos. One thing to take advantage of is the AI. It will usually always pick a special attack, then regular attack if available. When it looses health, he'll use healing gems most turns. If you can get him low enough, just keep attacking and your attacks should overpower his healing. Rage is also very important. But never use Rage if he has a counter or defense on, that will just waste it.

Too slow? Damn..how impatient are you Kelly? 1 second turns? Would be fast enough for you? Anyways, this is a great game with fantastic art, but, it's quite hard to get 3 attack gems. The one thing that would help so much is if the gems didn't revert back to their original spot when you don't get a match. That way you could work your way towards matches, even if you can't get one that turn.

It's a beautifully made game, but gameplay is simply too slow. I think this could be improved by having separate playing fields for the player and their opponent. As it is, though, I don't feel like I can slog through more than a few levels of this.

I feel like this game would be a lot better if both you and your opponent each had an individual grid of gems to use instead of sharing the same one. A lot of the strategy here revolves around not letting your opponent get good matches instead of trying to line up good matches for yourself. You could even add in a power-up that disrupts your opponent's grid as well. Just a thought. :)

How i got the hard medal: the game always try to get in the sequence: red, purple, gray. Catch'em all FIRST! If u need it, take photos of the screen and pause the game. The computer calculate the possibilities faster than us cause it doesn't THINK! Hope this helps...

Yeah - REAL fair with the Octopus -- HE gets like 25 Combos and extra turns - and I get ONE turn - get my ass kicked in after about 3 turns - and I'm dead . Nice

I hate how I can't complete my combo when the boss transforms, especially when I have a full rage bar just taunting me.

okay shark its go time, first turn, i deal 45 and defence for 52%, he deals 112 and gets 72% defence and counter, second turn, i defence for 78% and counter for 102%, he gets almost full rage and defences for 99%, last turn i attack 3 times and deal nothing, he rages, power attacks 3 times and knocks me out. WHY!

as if the game weren't based on enough luck you had to make it so u have to play the final boss 37 times to beat him? kinda bull shit

wow, against goord (the purple slime right before the boss), I literally made one move and then the AI gets a rainbow and two extra turns both including his special attack. I died in one turn!!

So in other words - when trying to beat Octopussy - and all your upgrades are maxed out - WTF is the point of the game giving you MORE points ??

Fun game, cute artwork. More ways to manipulate the board would make it more fun though - there were a few too many boring turns. Also, the final boss is probably a little too hard when playing with Pixel. And I agree that this should be multiplayer!

sometimes when a block falls from above the top, combos of 4 break as combos of 3, also i had 6 hearts on top of each other, the line below broke and 2 blocks from the line above fell down and i didn't get the other line .___. that all happens during long combos

I got stuck on the rhino, so I just farmed rubies by starting a fight, leaving it open in the background and coming back to the window 15 minutes later.

It's good, but it really lacks some ways to manipulate the board. It gets "stuck" with little interesting combinations a little bit too often. Some "spells" or abilities a la Puzzle Gem would make this much better.

Just to prove that it can be done, I've just defeated the boss with only 6 upgrades - 3xDefense and 3xCounter. It's extremely hard, but possible. :) Use defense and counter gems wisely, they're crucial to winning the last few stages.

I don't see what all the end boss QQ is about, it's pretty easy to beat if you play at LEAST a bit logically. The AI is pretty predictable and stupid, which sort of makes me sad, as I set up 5-in-a-rows for myself and it didn't even bother to match them.
