It's actually pretty easy if you plan your moves out instead of just matching the first thing you see. Protip: Pay attention to what possible moves you're giving the opponent. The AI will always prioritize attacks over everything else, and this is easy to exploit. You can set up 4/5 of a kinds and combos of other gems that they'll ignore, and you can bait them into attacking you while you have defense+counter up. Just focus on controlling the board.

lol I just got a full rage bar and killed the 1st version of the boss in the first move now... this game is all about luck

@ Lyokira , yeah, _IF_ you get Defense AND Counter. If you only get 1 of those 2, it's not really all that great. Why? Because you as the player have less than half his life bar. Your counter attack would have to be OVER 200% to make it worth doing just Counter. And the boss has infinite energy, so Defense by itself isn't great. (you can't energy drain him) So doing either of those alone, is not worth it. If you have high defense AND counter? Then yes. That's how I won the first time. But that's the exception. As a 99% rule, always get the purples/greys, and never let the enemy get them. @ Bob_stew So true. This game is pretty neat. I like it. You can wrangle the randomness like you said. Good observation. @ Localmusicians , no, the enemy cannot change gems on the screen to something that wasn't already there. You just missed seeing the gems.

I normally don't like exploiting loopholes, but the last boss is ridiculous. Therefore, snap a pic with your phone, pause, consider your best move, then unpause and do it.

good game but telling me whose turn it is in the middle of the play field is annoying. it makes it hard to look for a move with big letters in the way. the tooltips telling me what each stone type does is also annoying. after a few matches it is not hard to remember each types purpose.

There's a lot more skill and less randomness in this than most people probably realize. You can control the field pretty well by tracking the damage dealing icons and denying them to your opponent, or you can get shield+counter while leaving damage combos available for your opponent. You can avoid making chains that enable dangerous chains for your opponent. You can match stuff near the top of the field to minimize randomness if you're trying to control the field, or match something near the bottom if you're falling behind and need to get lucky with big chains.

Survived a rage attack with a counter... killed the enemy instead... logic, mind if you give me your fb name so I can friend you?

The luck factor is just to big to ignore. You can have fun matches where you completely dominate them and other matches where you watch your enemies get the most ridiculous sky luck known to man. To that effect this is no more than a glorified game of blackjack.

I don't mean to toot my own horn but i beat the boss on my first try (thanks to the comments warning me to grind a lil)

very good game, nicely drawn and quite pleasant to play, some challenge without being too difficult, sadly it has no replay value
5/5 nevertheless

Whoa. I had horrible trouble with a fully upgraded Pixel and never managed to beat the octo. Then restarted the game with Ryu and *pooof* octo was beaten. Wouldn't even have been a hard badge really...

could you make it so i can get a 4 combo then jump to 8 combo like my opponent just did, just went from 4 to 8, no 5 or 6 or 7

you should put a skip turn option so when there are no moves we don't have to wait for the count down, OR you can do what you do when the opponent has no moves and shuffle the board, why board shuffles for the opponent but not for the player is sort of unfair
